Governor's race comes down to dollars, cents Chris Christie's 12-point lead in the latest Quinnipiac poll shows that voters are judging this campaign by their wallets. The past eight years of Mc- Greevey-Corzine have failed our state. Gov. Jon Corzine has broken every promise he made, most recently on property-tax rebates. Unemployment remains at 8 percent, the latest state budget relies on gimmicks and tricks, and Corzine has yet again raised taxes, making New Jersey the second most-expensive state to live in. Corzine is in denial. He dismisses the poll and claims he will be re-elected. While Christie wants to shrink state government, Corzine makes new deals with state employees.
Let Corzine spend millions more in this campaign. The voters know that Corzine isn't up to the job, and they get that Chris Christie won't be afraid to make the tough decisions and say no when the Democratic Legislature wants to spend more money we don't have. |
