Jewish Lecture Series sets two August events

The American Jewish Experience Lecture Series, presented by the Jewish Historical Society of Central Jersey, continues its 11th consecutive year with a lecture by Philip Cantor entitled "After Anatevka," at 10 a.m. Aug. 11 at the Monroe Township Jewish Center, 11 Cornell Drive, Monroe. Cantor is the immediate past president of the Jewish Federation of Greater Middlesex County, and has long been active in both the Jewish community of the area and in the general community. He is a real estate agent with Weichert, South Brunswick.

On Aug. 20 at 10:30 a.m., Ruth Marcus Patt will speak at Anshe Emeth Memorial Temple, 222 Livingston Ave., New Brunswick, on the topic "Masters of Merchandising." Patt, the founder of the Jewish Historical Society of Central Jersey, is a social historian and the author of several books on local Jewish history. A native of New Brunswick, she has been active in many Jewish organizations in central New Jersey. She is a trustee of the Blanche and Irving Laurie Foundation and is active in Hadassah. Her biography is included in "Past and Promise," the lives of 300 women of New Jersey from 1600 to the present.
