Presentation to focus on recording family legacy "How To Preserve Your Family LegacyWithout Picking Up a Pen" will be the topic at the next meeting of IntertribalAmerican Indians of New Jersey set for 2 p.m. on June 21 at the lodge in Thompson Park, Monroe. Intertribal member Mary Anne Ross, owner and founder of Your Family Legacy, a service that helps people record and preserve their individual and family histories, will help participants get started and provide information on how to organize their work. She also will demonstrate various recording methods. Intertribal American Indians of New Jersey is a nonprofit organization that provides social activities and support to American Indians living in New Jersey. Members come from tribes throughout the country. The group is dedicated to educating the public about American-Indian culture and history. Members facilitate programs for schools, corporations, universities and healthcare organizations. Meetings are usually held once a month on Saturdays, except in July, at the log cabin in Thompson Park. Intertribal President Brenda Davis and other Intertribal members will discuss and lead summer games on Aug. 9. Professor Kenneth Dollarhide, dean, College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Kean University, Union, will offer a presentation titled "Native Americans: 500 Years of Neglect and Genocide, or LivingWith Honor Is More Important Than Living With Freedom" on Sept. 20.
