Farrington Lake cleanup scheduled for May 10
The sixth annual cleanup around Farrington Lake will begin at 9 a.m. on May 10. Registration is set for 8:30 a.m. in the parking area at Bicentennial Park, junction of RivaAvenue and Hardenburg Lane, East Brunswick.
Sponsors of the event include the Middlesex County Federation of Sportsmen, the Lawrence Brook Watershed Partnership (LBWP) and the communities of East Brunswick, North Brunswick, New Brunswick and Milltown.
Cleaning the lakefront improves the environment and maintains the health of the Lawrence Brook, a source of drinking water in the region. Volunteers should dress to pick up trash, with arms and legs covered and stout shoes.
