Two boro men arrested; one on drug distribution charges SOUTH RIVER - Police arrested two men on drug charges at an Arlington Avenue residence last week. Officers fromthe South River Police Department, along with the Narcotics Taskforce of the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office and New Jersey State Police, executed a search warrant that yielded a number of illicit drugs and two arrests, according to South River Police Sgt. John McKenna. The bustwas the result of an approximately two-month-long investigation. Police recovered a firearm, as well as a half ounce of ecstasy, two ounces of cocaine, assorted drug paraphernalia and less than 50 grams of marijuana, McKenna said. Police charged Julius Pineda, 20, of South River,with possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school zone, possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm within a drug distribution scheme, possession of ecstasy, possession of ecstasy with the intent to distribute, possession of ecstasy with the intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a primary school, possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Antonio Pineda, 22, of South River, was charged with possession of cocaine. He also had warrants out of two other municipalities, McKenna said. He was later released on his own recognizance. Julius Pineda was turned over to the Middlesex CountyAdult Correction Center, North Brunswick, on $250,000 bail. |
