Rotary Club donates signs for safe driving

SPOTSWOOD - In an effort to increase drivers' awareness of hazards on the road, particularly when children are nearby, "Drive Safely" signs were recently installed at each of the borough's four schools.

The signs are up on Heffron Drive and Manalapan Road, near the Immaculate Conception School; two on Summerhill Road near the Memorial Middle School and Spotswood High School; and another on Vliet Street near the Appleby School.

The South River-East Brunswick Rotary Club donated the signs. In prior years, the Rotary Club donated signs that were placed near schools in East Brunswick and South River.

"Our members are committed to making a positive difference in the lives of those in our community, and the safety of our children is paramount," said Joe Xerri, past president of the club.
