Spotswood tree lighting scheduled for Dec. 1

The Spotswood Recreation Department will sponsor the 18th annual borough Holiday Tree-Lighting Ceremony beginning at 6 p.m. on Dec. 1 at the municipal center, Summerhill Road.

Chorus groups from Appleby School, Memorial School, Spotswood High School and the Spotswood Girl Scouts will entertain with songs of the season.

To kick off Spotswood's upcoming 100- year celebration, the oldest citizen or citizens of the borough will light the tree. The event also will feature hot chocolate and goodies. Santa will arrive on a large red truck, courtesy of the Spotswood Fire Department.
