Obituaries Charles E. Duma Mr. Duma, 66, of Spotswood, formerly of the Parlin section of Sayreville, died Aug. 8, 2007, in Briarwood Care Center, Sayreville. Prior to his retirement in 1991, he was employed as a receiving operator with E.I. DuPont, Parlin, where he worked for 33 years. Surviving are his wife, Barbara Presti Duma; a brother, Richard Duma of Sayreville; a sister and brother-inlaw, Dolores and Gary Latendorf of High Bridge; and a nephew. Private services were under the direction of Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2600 Route 1, North Brunswick, NJ 08902.
Sally Kielian Gonzalez Mrs. Gonzalez, 85, of the Somerset section of Franklin, formerly of Sayreville, died July 19, 2007, in Willow Creek Care Center, Somerset. Prior to her retirement, she was a waitress at Bosco's Diner, South River. Her husband, Primo, died in 2001. Surviving are two sisters, Helen Modzelewski of East Brunswick and Stella Sheridan of Bayville; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Services were held at Maliszewski Memorial Home, Sayreville. Interment was in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, also Sayreville.
Alfred J. Serra Mr. Serra, 79, of Sayreville, died Aug. 9, 2007, at home. Surviving are his wife, Alice S. Serra; two daughters, Rosemary Dantas, and her husband, Fernando, of Old Bridge, and Elizabeth Barreiro, and her husband, Joe, of Sayreville; and three grandchildren. A Mass was offered at Corpus Christi Church, South River. Entombment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. John C. Kenny Mr. Kenny, 75, of Milltown, died Aug. 7, 2007, at home. Prior to his retirement in 1996, he was a professor of social sciences and criminology at Middlesex County College, Edison. A member of the Milltown Borough Council from 1972-75, he served on the finance committee and as the mayor's representative to the Milltown Library Association. He was a former member of the Milltown Recreation Committee; a former trustee, president and treasurer of the Milltown Public Library; and chairman of the Milltown Library Guidance Committee. Surviving are his wife, Anna Kenny; two daughters, Kathleen Ruvolo of North Brunswick and Karen Proia, and her husband, Jim, of Florida; a son, Jay Kenny, and his wife, Laura, of Monroe; a brother, Gerald Kenny, and his wife, Rosemary, of Sayreville; a brother-in-law, John Martin of Milltown; seven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Milltown. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Dorothy Barbara Jones Miller Mrs. Miller, 80, of Spotswood, died Aug. 10, 2007, in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are her husband, Robert Miles Miller; two sons, James Miller, and his wife, Maggie, of Spotswood, and George F. Rasch, and his wife, Barbara, of Old Bridge; and six grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Henry W. Burns, and by a son, John Burns. Surviving are three sons, Robert Burns of Highlands Ranch, Colo., William Burns of East Brunswick and Edward Burns of Middlesex; three daughters, Geraldine Bruno of the Whiting section of Manchester, Katharine Dlouhy of Hainesport and Patricia Serio of Monroe; a sister, Elizabeth Fritz of the Great Meadows section of Liberty; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Bartholomew's Church, East Brunswick. Entombment was in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, South Brunswick. Karl D. Cuff Mr. Cuff, 45, of Hightstown, formerly of Cranbury, died Aug. 9, 2007, in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. A master carpenter, he owned and operated his own business, Construction and Carpentry Specialists, Hightstown. Surviving are his wife, Marie G. Fifth Cuff; five sons, Mitchell of Kentucky, Dillon, Jimmy, Adam and Paul; his father, Morris K. of Hightstown; his mother, Judith A. Durham of Mays Landing; his maternal grandmother, Sara Coker of Millville; two sisters, Teresa Snead of Tampa, Fla., and Carolyn Heron of Lake Wallenpaupauk, Pa.; two brothers, Neal of Vineland and Macky of Hightstown; a brother by choice, Jeffrey Smith of Jamesburg; his father-in-law, Al Oriani, and his mother-in-law, Liz Oriani, both of Hawley, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A service was held at M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Monroe. Interment was in Fernwood Cemetery, Jamesburg. Memorial contributions may be made to Jamesburg Elks Lodge No. 2180, 74 W. Railroad Ave., Jamesburg NJ 08831. Mollie "Millie" Izzo Mrs. Izzo, 91, of Monroe, formerly of Old Bridge, died Aug. 10, 2007, in Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are a daughter, Virginia Menkes; two grandsons, Jeffery D. Menkes and James D. Menkes; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Memorial services were held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
Francis J. "Sonny" Antonides Mr. Antonides, 83, of the Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick, formerly of Sayreville, Florida and Helmetta, died Aug. 16, 2007, in Park Place Center, Genesis Health Care, Monmouth Junction. Prior to his retirement in 1986, he was employed at Carborundum Corp., Keasbey section of Woodbridge, where he worked for 35 years. His wife, Anna Trieckel Antonides, died in 2001. Surviving are five children, Albert Antonides of Hampton Beach, N.H., Cindy Prybylko, and her husband, Edward, of Sayreville, Keith Antonides, and his wife, Diane, of Woolwich and Dawn and Debra Antonides, both of Spotswood; two sisters, Margaret Seroka and Claire Raychel, both of Edison; and four grandchildren. Private services were under the direction of Maliszewski Memorial Home, Sayreville. Interment was in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arnytown section of North Hanover. Memorial contributions may be made to the local chapter of the American Heart Association.
Louis Eugene Rezem Sr. Mr. Rezem, 86, of East Brunswick, died Aug. 13, 2007, in Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. The owner and manager since 1946 of Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick, formerly of South River, he also was past president of the New Jersey Funeral Directors Association. His wife, Christianna V. Muha Rezem, died in 1994. Surviving are a daughter, Marie L. Risley, and a son, Louis E. Rezem Jr.; and several nieces and nephews. Services were held at Rezem Funeral Home. A Mass was offered at St. Mary of Ostrabrama Church, South River. Interment was in Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan.
