Obituaries

David Markheim

Mr. Markheim, 88, of Monroe, formerly of Old Bridge and Spotswood, died July 22, 2007, in Barbara E. Cheung Memorial Hospice, Edison. He was a self-employed contractor, building homes in and around Spotswood for many years. He served one term on the Spotswood Board of Commissioners, the forerunner of the Spotswood Borough Council. His wife, Anna Mae Markheim, died in 1987. Surviving are two children, Carol Duhrkopp, and her husband, Lyn, of Monroe, and David Brian Markheim, and his wife, Tammy, of South Carolina; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; his longtime companion, Dorothy Patron; and his caregivers. Services were held at Spotswood Funeral Home. Interment was in Spotswood Reformed Church Cemetery. Ramon F. Schaffer

Mr. Schaffer, 77, of East Brunswick, died July 27, 2007, in Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Rita Yurkiewicz Schaffer; two sons, Ramon Schaffer, and his wife, Deborah, of Little Egg Harbor, and Robb Schaffer, and his wife, Gisele, of East Brunswick; two daughters, Ramona Toia, and her husband, Frank, and Diana Kohlhepp, and her husband, Keith, all of Millstone; nine grandchildren; and a nephew. A Mass was offered at St. Bartholomew's Church, East Brunswick. Interment was in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arnytown section of North Hanover. Casimir Waliszewski

Mr. Waliszewski, 70, of East Brunswick, died July 31, 2007, in Parker House, New Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Diane Adams Waliszewski; a daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Kurt Kuhn of Hockessin, Del.; and a grandson, Kurt Charles. Mrs. Bozza, 77, of Monroe, died Aug. 8, 2007, in Cranbury Care Center. She was predeceased by a son, James Bozza, and by a son-in-law, John Williams. Surviving are three daughters, Cathy Williams, Maureen Fontaine, and her husband, Ernst, and Dawn Sullivan, and her husband, Keith; a son, Patrick Bozza; a brother, Matt Hennessy; a sister, Sister Marie Jerome, Sisters of St. Joseph (S.S.J.); two sisters-in-law, Audrey Hennessey and Theresa Hennessey; a brother-in-law, Charles Riccardi; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at Corpus Christi Church, South River. Interment was private.

Marcel Sariano Monaco

Mrs. Monaco, 75, of East Brunswick, died Aug. 8, 2007, in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as an assembly-line operator at Revlon, Edison, where she worked for 20 years. Surviving are her husband, Louis Monaco; a son, Louis Monaco Jr. of East Brunswick; a daughter, Theresa Barns of Middletown; a brother, Harry Sariano; a sister, Helen Sariano; and four grandchildren. Services were held at Maliszewski Memorial Home, Sayreville. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.

Wilson T. Khalil

Mr. Khalil, 84, of Spotswood, died Aug. 9, 2007, in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Fawzia Roess Khalil; two sons, Tony and Salim, both of New York; two daughters, Salwa Youssef of East Brunswick and Seham Girgis of Australia; a sister in Egypt; and five grandchildren. Services were held at St. Mary Coptic Orthodox Church, East Brunswick. Entombment was in Rosedale Cemetery, Linden. Stella "Fef" G. Koziatek Rutkowski

Mrs. Rutkowski, 81, of South River, died Aug. 9, 2007, in Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. Her husband, Michael Rutkowski, died in 1998. Surviving are two sons, Michael Rutkowski, and his wife, Ellen, of the Somerset section of Franklin, and David Rutkowski, and his wife, Donna, of Byram; a brother, Joseph Koziatek of South River; two sisters, Eleanor Weichadle of South River and Irene Toto of East Brunswick; and five grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Mary's Church, South River. Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Brunswick.

Mark J. Snyder

Mr. Snyder, 49, of Spotswood, formerly of East Brunswick, died July 31, 2007, at home. He was a truck driver with Yellow Freight, East Brunswick, for 19 years. He was predeceased by his father, Joseph Snyder, in 2005. Surviving are his wife, Kimberly Gilligan Snyder; his mother, Joy Huff Snyder of the Whiting section of Manchester; a brother, David Snyder of Eatontown; a sister and brother-in-law, Deborah and David Smith of Nanuet, N.Y.; a daughter, Jennifer Snyder; a niece; and a nephew. Interment was in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick. Arrangements were under the direction of Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick.

Daniel "Dusty" Annachini

Mr. Annachini, 80, of Old Bridge, died July 21, 2007, in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Prior to his retirement, he was a butcher at Kosher Meat Market, Old Bridge. His companion, Martha Tomaszewski, died in 2003. Surviving are a son, Frank Tomaszewski, and his wife, Geraldine, of East Brunswick; a daughter, Barbara Galati, and her husband, James, of Jackson; two sisters, Mary Kendell and Theresa Vineyard, both of Philadelphia; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Arrangements were under the direction of Maliszewski Funeral Home, South River. Cremation was private.

Anna Zimbicki

Ms. Zimbicki, 92, of East Brunswick, died July 26, 2007, in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to her retirement in 1980, she was employed for approximately 30 years as a school nurse with South River Public Schools. Before that, she worked as a registered nurse with an area pediatrician. She was predeceased by two brothers, Walter and Edward. Surviving are a brother, Anthony Zimbicki of Monroe; two nieces, Kathleen Cook of Milltown and Ruthann Krissak of North Carolina; four nephews, Joseph of East Brunswick, Anthony of Florida, Michael of Monroe and Edward of Tennessee; three great-nieces and three great-nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Mary of Ostrabrama Church, South River. Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Brunswick.

Salvatore A. Adelfio

Mr. Adelfio, 82, of Marlboro, formerly of Old Bridge and South River, died July 22, 2007, in CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Surviving are his wife, Anita; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Steve and Pat Adelfio and Joe and Karen Adelfio, all of Old Bridge, and Sal Adelfio and Mike and Ona Adelfio, all of Freehold; two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Robb McQuade of Holmdel and Mary and Joe Rizzo of Howell; two brothers, Andy Adelfio of South Carolina and Joseph Adelfio of Florida; a sister, Theresa Correale of Manalapan; and 12 grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Interment was in Forest Green Park Cemetery, Marlboro. Theresa Ryan

Mrs. Ryan, 76, of Old Bridge, died July 25, 2007, in Haven Hospice, Edison. Her husband, Alfred Sr., died in 2001. Surviving are a son, Alfred J. of Hawley, Pa., and a daughter, Diane Duffy of Old Bridge; a brother, Harry Moran of Valley Stream, N.Y.; two sisters, Alice Dowler of Spotswood and Helen Bauer of Long Island, N.Y.; and six granddaughters. A Mass was offered at St. Ambrose Church, Old Bridge. Interment was in the Cemetery of the Resurrection, Staten Island, N.Y.
