Boating-safety exam scheduled for Aug. 4

Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 2-1, 167 Main St., Sayreville, will conduct a Boating Safety Test Out Examination at 9 a.m. on Aug. 4.

Individuals who take the exam must have been born prior to 1979 and certify that they have at least 100 hours of boating experience. Proof of age must be provided prior to taking the examination.

Cost for the test is $25. Successful completion will certify an individual for the New Jersey State Boating Safety Certificate that is now a state law. The exam may be taken only one time.
