Russian poetry to be heard at library

The East Brunswick Public Library, Jean Walling Civic Center, will host a Russian poetry reading from 7-8 p.m. on Aug. 4 in the library café area.

Inna Chatsky will read selections from her collected poetry in Russian. The title of Chatsky's book of poems in Russian translates as "Here All Alone by Myself" in English.

Admission is free of charge. The public is invited.

Candidates to speak at

Aug. 16 GOP meeting

The monthly meeting of the Monroe Township Republican Club will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 16 at Garvey's Restaurant, Spotswood-Gravel Hill Road, Monroe.

Featured guests will be Rob Oras and Lynda Woods-Cleary, Republican candidates for sheriff and surrogate, respectively.

Current and new members are welcome. Refreshments will be served.
