Obituaries Richard T. Gozick Mr. Gozick, 72, of East Brunswick, formerly of Spotswood, died July 5, 2007, in Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to his retirement in 1998, he was employed as a welder, based in Sayreville, for Jersey Central Power and Light, where he worked for 25 years. Before that, he was employed as a mechanic with Peter J. Schweitzer, Spotswood. Surviving are his wife, Connie Bonus Gozick; three sons, Richard S. of the Parlin section of Sayreville, Peter T. of East Brunswick and Michael P. of South River; a brother, Peter Gozick, and his wife, Louise, and a sister, Lenore Corrigan, and her husband, James, all of South River; his mother-in-law, Violet Bonus of East Brunswick; a brother-in-law, Raymond Bonus, also of East Brunswick; two grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. Arrangements were under the direction of Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Cremation was private.
Catherine Dominik Wojciechowicz Mrs. Wojciechowicz, formerly of Sayreville and South River, died July 7, 2007, in Texas. Her husband, Frank Wojciechowicz, died in 1982. Surviving are a son, Frank Wojie, and his wife, Cindy, of Coppell, Texas; a brother, Walter Dominik; four sisters, Estelle Alberts, Florence Piech, Eleanore Egan, and her husband, Robert, and Christine Dominik; two sisters-in-law, Helen and Margaret Dominik; a grandson; and many nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces. A Mass was offered at St. Mary of Ostrabrama Church, South River. Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Brunswick.
Violet M. Smith Calvo Mrs. Calvo, 83, formerly of Milltown, died July 16, 2007, in Tall Woods Care Center, Bayville. Prior to her retirement in 1978, she was a supervisor at Quaker Oats Co., New Brunswick, where she worked for 25 years. Surviving are her husband, William V. Calvo; a son, Robert Davison of Orlando, Fla.; a brother, John F. Smith of Fort Pierce, Fla.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Services are planned for 10 a.m. on July 19 at Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick. Interment will follow in Van Liew Cemetery, North Brunswick.
John T. Marcason Mr. Marcason, 94, of East Brunswick, formerly of South River, died July 3, 2007, in Francis E. Parker Memorial Home, Piscataway. Prior to his retirement in 1965, he was a woodshop and mechanical-drawing teacher and the head of the fine arts department at Metuchen High School, where he worked for 42 years. During World War II, he worked at Raritan Arsenal, Edison. He and his late wife, Mary, taught several local adult-education ballroom-dancing classes. Surviving is a daughter, Karen Marcason of North Brunswick. A Mass was offered at St. Mary's Church, South River. Entombment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to Sayrebrook Veterinary Hospital, 1400 Main St., Sayreville, NJ 08872.
Shoe-Zon Liu Mrs. Liu, 74, of East Brunswick, died June 28, 2007, in Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. Her husband, Yen-Shu Liu, died in June. Surviving are two sons, Tim Liu, and his wife, Maryanne Lach, and Wally Liu; a daughter, Ingsu Liu, and her husband, Paul D. Buckley; and two grandchildren, Theodore Liu and Nathaniel Liu. Services were held at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Robert M. Fletcher Mr. Fletcher, 56, of the Morganville section of Marlboro, formerly of Englishtown and the Cliffwood Beach section of Old Bridge, died July 13, 2007, in Old Bridge. Surviving are his wife, Donna; five daughters and two sons-in-law, Tiffany and Michael Wilke of New York, Tracy and Joseph Colonna of Manalapan, Kimberly Colon of North Carolina, Elizabeth Colon of Monroe and Megan Fletcher of Morganville; a brother, Edward of North Bergen; two sisters, Susan and Debbie, both of Danville, Va.; and two grandchildren. Interment was private. Arrangements were under the direction of Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan. Hendryk S. Franckewich Mr. Franckewich, 72, of South River, died July 12, 2007, in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy division. Prior to his retirement, he was a culinary professor. Surviving are a brother, Edward E. Franckewich Jr. of Hallandale Beach, Fla.; three nieces and nephews; and seven great-nieces. John Paul O'Leary Mr. O'Leary, 67, of South River, formerly of the Cliffwood Beach section of Old Bridge, died July 9, 2007, in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Eileen O'Leary; two daughters, Patricia Jones, and her husband, Heath, of East Brunswick, and Mary Rakoski, and her husband, Paul, of Maryland; two granddaughters, Jennifer O'Leary and Kaitlyn Jones; and a great-grandson. A Mass was offered at Corpus Christi Church, South River. Interment was in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Keyport.
Marian Lynch Parra Mrs. Parra, 78, of East Brunswick, died July 10, 2007. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Rutgers University, New Brunswick, where she worked for 25 years. She was predeceased by her husband, William F. Parra, in 2004, and by a son, Joseph C. Parra, in 2005. Surviving are two sons, William Parra of Tinton Falls and James Parra of Chesterfield; a daughter, Mary Lou Parra of Solebury, Pa.; five brothers, John Hanley, James Hanley, William Hanley, Michael Hanley and Thomas Hanley; a sister, Anna Koch; and seven grandchildren. A Mass was celebrated at St. Bartholomew's Church, East Brunswick. Interment was in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arnytown section of North Hanover.
Catherine Helen Dolan Van Horne Mrs. Van Horne, 98, of the Clearwater community in Spotswood, died July 10, 2007, at home. Her husband, Leo Van Horne, died in 1965. Surviving are a daughter, Lois M. Cook of Spotswood; a brother, Patrick Dolan of Bayonne; two grandsons, Douglas T. Cook of Old Bridge and Kevin P. Cook of East Brunswick; and a nephew, Harold Hennelly of Middletown. A memorial service was held at Spotswood Funeral Home.
Elizabeth Ferris Kazoun
Mrs. Kazoun, 90, of Monroe, formerly of North Brunswick, died July 14, 2007, in Monroe. Her husband, Fahd Kazoun, died in 1983. Surviving are a daughter, Jacqueline Nesser of Monroe; four sons, Nick Kazoun of Netcong, Tony Kazoun of North Caldwell, James Kazoun of Caldwell and Fred Kazoun of the Toms River section of Dover; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at Sacred Heart Church, New Brunswick. Interment was in Hollywood Memorial Park, Union. |
