For the Record A June 21 story inaccurately described the state law that dictates how towns such as Jamesburg must fund municipal libraries. In fact, state law mandates that Jamesburg annually give the library a sum equal to one-third of a mill (.0003) on every dollar of assessable property within the municipality, based on the equalized valuation of such property. The annual increase may be limited to 15 percent of the previous year's expenditure. Jamesburg's annual library expenditure stands at $173,000.
