Obituaries Orel Marie Barr Mrs. Barr, 79, of the Somerset section of Franklin, formerly of East Brunswick, died June 10, 2007, in McCarrick Care Center, Somerset. Prior to her retirement in 1992, she was employed as an executive secretary at Dagreen Electronics, South River. She was the former owner of Amanda's B&B Reservation Service, East Brunswick. Surviving are two daughters, Suzanne Meserve of the Ringoes section of East Amwell and Deborah Fisher of Greenwich, Conn.; a son, Bruce A. Barr of Lumberton; four sisters, Dorothy Stalther of Saddle Brook, Marion Lockwood of Bastrup, Texas, Carol Knight of Rome, Ga., and Gail Flynn of Lake Kiameshia, N.Y.; and five grandchildren. A memorial service was held at Emanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, New Brunswick. Private cremation was under the direction of Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick.
Edward McDonough Mr. McDonough, 68, of the Melrose section of Sayreville, died June 18, 2007, in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to his retirement in 1997, he was an owner-operator of McDonough Trucking, Melrose. He was a truck driver for 40 years, working for Buck Brothers, East Brunswick, and Hess Brothers, Sayreville. He was predeceased by his parents, Leonard and Olympia McDonough. Surviving are his wife, Mary Camelleri McDonough; a son, Edward, and his wife, Stacey, of Sayreville; two daughters, Eliza Doblosky, and her fiancé, Louis Glynn, of Old Bridge and Kathleen Dusebout, and her husband, Ken, of Denville; a sister, Gloria McDonough of Palm Harbor, Fla.; and five grandchildren. A Mass was offered at Sacred Heart Church, South Amboy. Private cremation followed.
Paul R. Flynn Mr. Flynn, 39, of Newark, died June 18, 2007, in University Hospital, University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Newark. Surviving are his parents, Anita and Raymond Flynn of East Brunswick; two brothers, John Flynn and his wife, Jackie, of East Brunswick, and Mark Flynn, and his wife, Deborah, of Lumberton; a sister, Diane Flynn, and her husband, David Scheck, of Springfield; and four nephews and three nieces. A service was held at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Interment was private. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
Joseph J. Carciotto Mr. Carciotto, 88, of Milltown, died June 10, 2007, in Care One at East Brunswick. Prior to his retirement, he was a driver at Bristol-Myers Squibb, New Brunswick, where he worked for more than 30 years. Surviving are a sister, Mary Carciotto of Milltown; and three cousins, Anthony Lombardo of Monroe, Mary Rice of Glendale, Calif., and Frances Villara of the Bronx, N.Y. A Mass was offered at St. Mary of Mount Virgin Church, New Brunswick. Interment was in St. Peter's Cemetery, also New Brunswick.
Mollie Lacob Mrs. Lacob, 88, of East Brunswick, formerly of Monroe, died June 17, 2007, in Sunrise Assisted Living, East Brunswick. She was predeceased by her husband, Theodore, and by a daughter, Sare Bitter. Surviving are a daughter, Julia Weinberg, and her husband, Jerry, of East Brunswick; a brother, Sol Jaslowitz of Hackensack; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Services were held at Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick. Interment was in Washington Monumental Park, Coram, N.Y. Linder Mr. Linder, 83, of Milltown, formerly of North Brunswick, died June 15, 2007, in Deborah Heart and Lung Center, Browns Mills section of Pemberton The founder and owner of Linder Trucking, North Brunswick, he also operated the family farm in East Brunswick for many years. He and his late son, Kurt L. Linder, founded Progressive Automotive Inc., North Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Marie Jurkiewicz Linder; two daughters, Cynthia Linder of North Brunswick and Susan Linder of Milltown; a sister, Mary McCormick of Milltown; and a sister-in-law, Eva Jurkiewicz of Staten Island, N.Y. A Mass was offered at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Milltown. Interment was in St. Peter's Cemetery, New Brunswick.
Richard I. Meyers Mr. Meyers, 84, of East Brunswick, died June 14, 2007, at home. A son, John Meyers, died in 1995. Surviving are his wife, Edythe Coventry Meyers; a daughter, Pat Hornyak, and her husband, Andy, of Ewing. A daughter-in-law, Linda Meyers-Wilczynski, and her husband, Len, of East Brunswick; and two grandsons. Services were held at Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick. Cremation was at Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick.
Larry Sten Mr. Sten, 55, of Monroe, died June 16, 2007, in CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was predeceased by a son, David, in 1997, and by another son, Michael, in 2005. Surviving are a sister, Phyllis Best, and her husband, Ross, of Sandy, Utah. Services are planned for 10 a.m. on June 22 at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Allan L. Voorhees Mr. Voorhees, 68, of Spotswood, formerly of Marlboro and Freehold, died June 8, 2007, at home. Prior to his retirement, he was a heavy-equipment operator with Fenwick Construction, Matawan. Surviving are his wife, Mary Anne Linneman Voorhees; a son, Allan T. Voorhees, and his wife, Darlene, of Farmingdale; a sister, Bette Mancini DeMarco, and her husband, Ronald DeMarco; his former wife, Betty Voorhees; three grandchildren; and two nieces. Services were held at Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold.
Charlotte F. Vangelas Mrs. Vangelas, 74, of Monroe, died June 12, 2007, in The Elms at Cranbury. Surviving are her husband, Thomas Vangelas; a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas Jr. and Sharon Vangelas of Colts Neck; a brother, Billy Terry of Aberdeen, Scotland; a sister, Frances Byrd of Harelton, Texas; two grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A service was held at Clayton and McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township. Interment was in Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
Rudolph D. Nuzzo Mr. Nuzzo, 58, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, formerly of Middletown, died June 11, 2007, at home. He was predeceased by his father, Rudolph D. Nuzzo Sr. Surviving are his wife, Camille Gaito Nuzzo; three children, Julia, Anthony and Dana Nuzzo, all at home; his mother, Mildred Nuzzo of Long Island, N.Y.; and two brothers, Robert Nuzzo of Sayreville and Ronald Nuzzo of Long Island. A service was held at Tabernacle Baptist Church, South River. Interment was in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arnytown section of North Hanover.
