Mock-DUI drill

The Spotswood Police Department teamed with Spotswood High School last week to show juniors and seniors the real-life effects of a drunken-driving accident. Clockwise from top - Spotswood First Aid Squad members Jen Ryan, Pat Boyce and Tommy Zyhajlo attend to the "wounds" of student Shazard Hosien, who played a victim during the May 24 demonstration. Dan Keller acts the part of an injured accident victim while Anna Wright-Piersanti holds his hand. Spotswood Patrolman Nick Mayo and Detective Gene Scheicher examine the "accident victim," played by Spotswood High School student Cindy Jorg during the mock-DUI accident. Jorg lies underneath a sheet to portray a crash fatality. The next day, students attended a program designed to show the secondary effects of the crash.
