Julia Hayden

Mrs. Hayden, 97, of Spotswood, died April 24, 2007, at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. Before her retirement, Mrs. Hayden was a clerk for the Boy Scouts of America. She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel Hayden in 1978. She is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Daniel Hayden of Spotswood, and Robert and Nancy Hayden of Monroe Township; two daughters and one son-in-law, Clare Hayden of Spotswood, and Joyce and Norman Velge of Minnesota; a brother, Charles Diettrich of Clifton; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will take place April 26 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. A funeral service will be held April 27 at 9:45 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:15 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, Spotswood. Burial will follow at Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Paterson.

Joseph Balzamo

Mr. Balzamo, 67, of Sayreville, died April 24, 2007, at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Henrietta D'Alo Balzamo; a daughter, Michele Smith of Larkspur, Colo.; two sons, Joseph Balzamo Jr. of Morristown and Vincent Balzamo of Sayreville; a sister, Enza Casano of Barnegat; two brothers, Peter Balzamo of Waldwick and Mario Balzamo of South River; and six grandchildren. Visitation will take place April 26 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, Parlin. Members of Sayreville Knights of Columbus Council 2061 will hold services at 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held April 27 at 8:45 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Victories Roman Catholic Church, Sayreville. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Iselin section of Woodbridge.

Theresa M. Banka

Mrs. Banka, 80, of East Brunswick, died April 17, 2007, at Care One in East Brunswick, following a lengthy illness. She was an accountant at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, retiring in 2001. She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley P. Banka in 1984. She is survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law, Mark Banka of East Brunswick, Stanley and Laurie Banka of East Brunswick, William and Teri Banka of Portola, Calif., and Gregory and Eileen Banka of Willinboro; a daughter and son-in-law, Dr. Christine Walden and Charles Walden of Larkspur, Colo.; two brothers, Alexander Mosakowski and Edward Mosakowski, both of Ocala, Fla.; and eight grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Bartholomew's Roman Catholic Church, East Brunswick. Burial was at Holy Cross Burial park, South Brunswick. Arrangements were by Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick.

Marie Jordan Johnson

Mrs. Johnson, 58, of Manalapan, died April 15, 2007, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. She was born in Colorado and had resided in South River before moving to Manalapan 10 years ago. Prior to retiring, she was employed by the Drake Corp., East Brunswick, for 15 years. She retired as a shipping forewoman and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. She also enjoyed cooking. Mrs. Johnson was predeceased by her parents, Irma and Richard Jordan, as well as a son, Alfred Ambrose III, and a sister, Yvette Gregor. Surviving are a daughter, Marie Mack of South River; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Laura Ambrose of Buford, Ga.; a brother, Richard Jordan of Edison; five grandchildren; and her longtime companion, Michael Fisezi of Manalapan. Funeral services were held at the Maliszewski Funeral Home, South River. Cremation was private.

Abdul G. Karim

Mr. Karim 76, of East Brunswick, died April 19, 2007, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was predeceased by two brothers, Nural Karim and Mohammed Karim Jr. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Anna Page Karim; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and Gregory March of East Brunswick, and Anna Marie and Cipriano Araiza of Olympia, Wash.; a sister, Mimi Powers of Topsfield, Mass.; and five grandchildren. Arrangements were by Brunswick Memorial Funeral Home, East Brunswick.

Donald H. Hansen

Mr. Hansen, 55, of Beach Lake, Pa., and formerly East Brunswick, died April 6, 2007, at Lancaster (Pa.) General Hospital. He was a water utility operator at East Brunswick Water Department for 28 years, retiring in 2001. He was predeceased by his father, George Hansen. He is survived by his wife of nine years, Lucille D'Aquino Venditti Hansen; his mother, Gladys Gumble Hansen of Lancaster, Pa.; two sons, Walter Hansen of South River, and Derek Hansen of Spotswood; a brother, Richard Hansen of West Virginia; and a grandson. Burial was at Washington Monumental Cemetery, South River. Arrangements were by Brunswick Memorial Funeral Home, East Brunswick.

Roy Carter Jr.

Mr. Carter, 79, of South River, died April 9, 2007, at Medical Center at Princeton. He was predeceased by a brother, John Carter. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Judith Carter of Valencia, Calif., and Roy B. and Susan Carter of Anamosa, Iowa; a daughter and her husband, Cynthia Carter-Betancourt and Claude of the Dayton section of South Brunswick; and six grandchildren. Arrangements were by Brunswick Memorial Funeral Home, East Brunswick.

Clare Gavaghan Bradley

Mrs. Bradley, 74, of East Brunswick, died April 9, 2007, at Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was predeceased by her husband, Howard E. Bradley in 2003. She is survived by a son, Paul of West Orange; a daughter, Anne Bradley of East Brunswick; and two sisters, Terry Gavaghan of Philadelphia, and Beatrice Lewis of Cherry Hill. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Bartholomew's Roman Catholic Church, East Brunswick. Interment was at Holy Cross Burial park, South Brunswick. Arrangements were by Brunswick Memorial Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Memorial donations may be made to Saint Peter's University Hospital, 254 Easton Ave., New Brunswick 08901.

Jerome Bricker

Mr. Bricker, 76, of Monroe Township, died April 23, 2007, at home. He is survived by a daughter, Shari Barnett of Bridgewater; two sons and one daughter-in-law, David Bricker of Bedminster, and Jeffrey and Shari Bricker of West Caldwell; a brother and sister-in-law, Danny and Joan Bricker of Queens, N.Y.; his companion, Ann Putnam; and five grandchildren. Interment was at Beth Abraham Cemetery, East Brunswick. Arrangements were by Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick. Robert E. Breuer

Mr. Breuer, 73, of East Brunswick, died April 17, 2007, at Father Hudson Hospice, Elizabeth. He resided in Roselle Park prior to relocating to East Brunswick four years ago. He was a volunteer fireman in Roselle Park. He is survived by a sister, Marilyn R. Long of East Brunswick, with whom he resided; two nieces; and two nephews. Arrangements were by Brunswick Memorial Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Memorial donations may be made to Father Hudson House, 111 Dehart Place, Elizabeth 07072.

Charlotte Koletis

Mrs. Koletis, 80, of East Brunswick, died April 9, 2007, at Barbara E. Cheung Hospice, Edison. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Koletis; three sons and daughters-in-law, John and Kathy Koletis of Helmetta, Thomas and Alyssa Koletis of Jackson, and Mark and Yuko Koletis of Montana; a sister, Carmella Zito; and three grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Bartholomew's Roman Catholic Church, East Brunswick. Entombment was at Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, South Brunswick. Arrangements were by Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick.

Mary T. Grzyb Kozma

Mrs. Kozma, 90, of Spotswood, died April 9, 2007, at Summerhill Nursing Home, Old Bridge. She was predeceased by her first husband, Anthony Bender in 1956; and two sisters, Sophie and Lottie Grzyb, both in 1999. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Alexander Kozma; a daughter and son-in-law, Laverne and Curtis Kazimir of Monroe Township; a son and daughter-in-law, Patrick Kozma and Rosemary Sigona of New York City; and two grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Immaculate Conception church, Spotswood. Interment was at St. Mary's Cemetery, East Brunswick. Arrangements were by Brunswick Memorial Funeral Home, East Brunswick.

Rose M. Myzewski

Mrs. Myzewski, 91, of South River, died April 17, 2007, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was a longtime South River Democratic poll worker. She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Mizeski in 1998. She is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Russell Walker of East Brunswick; a niece; two nephews; and several grand-nieces and grand-nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Mary of Ostrabrama Church, South River. Interment was at St. Mary's Cemetery, East Brunswick. Arrangements were by Brunswick Memorial Funeral Home, East Brunswick.
