April 13

+ Art Auction, sponsored by the South River Public Library board of trustees, in conjunction with Ria Mar Restaurant, doors open at 6:30 p.m. for advance viewing, event begins at 8 p.m., at Ria Mar, 25 Whitehead Ave., South River. Marlin Art, New York, will offer approximately 160 pieces of art, memorabilia and glass, all at discounted prices. Proceeds benefit the South River Public Library Expansion Project. Tickets cost $15 each or two for $25 and may be purchased at the library, 55 Appleby Ave. Seating is limited. (732) 254-2488.

April 13 & 14

+ Rummage Sale, sponsored by The Elizabeth Circle of Spotswood Reformed Church, 4-8 p.m. on April 13, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 14, at the church, 429 Main St., across from the post office. Clothes and small household items available for purchase. (732) 251-9277.

April 14

+ Community Donation Day, sponsored by the Chittick Elementary School PTA, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., in the all-purpose room at the school, 5 Flagler St., East Brunswick. Residents of the East Brunswick community and surrounding towns are invited to take part via a New Jersey Blood Services blood drive, a Locks of Love hair donation for cancer patients, a Police Athletic League (PAL) clothing drive and a Recycling Center for old cell phones and ink-jet cartridges. + Car Wash, sponsored by the East Brunswick High School volleyball team, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the high school, Cranbury Road. Cars may enter via Cranbury Road or Summerhill Road entrance. Cost is $5 for cars, $7 for sport utility vehicles.

April 15

+ Giant Garage Sale, sponsored by Sayreville Pet Adoption Center, 1400 Main St., 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the shelter's parking lot. Donations of items for the sale accepted at the shelter from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 13 and 14 only. Linens and shoes will not be accepted. Proceeds benefit the pets housed at the shelter.
