Obituaries Sgt. 1st Class Benjamin L. Sebban, U.S. Army Sgt. Sebban, 29, of South Amboy, died March 17, 2007, in Baqouba, Iraq. A graduate of Middlesex County Vocational and Technical High Schools, East Brunswick, and the nursing program at Fort Bragg, N.C., he was serving as a medic with the Army's 82nd Airborne Division. He won many awards and decorations, including the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal with three oak-leaf clusters, Good Conduct Medal, Army Achievement Medal with three oak-leaf clusters, National Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Global War on Terror Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terror Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Combat Medical Badge, Expert Field Medical Badge and Parachutist Badge. Surviving are his mother, Barbara Filik Walsh of the Neshanic Station section of Branchburg; and two brothers, Daniel Sebban of the Franklin Park section of Franklin and David Sebban of Branchburg. A service was held at Christ Episcopal Church, South Amboy. Interment is planned for 1 p.m. on March 29 in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sgt. 1st Class Benjamin L. Sebban Warrior Fund, P.O. Box 111, South Amboy, NJ 08879, a scholarship fund for students pursuing a career in the nursing/medical field.
Lillian M. Beltran Janosko Mrs. Janosko, 69, of Sayreville, died March 20, 2007, at home. A son, Scott Janosko, died in 1999. Surviving are her husband, Stephen L. Janosko; two sons, Stephen Jr., and his wife, Nancy, of South River, and Vincent, and his wife, Debra, of Mississippi; five daughters, Linda Burke, Donna Beagan, and her husband, Daniel, Dawn Pucciarello, and her husband, Joseph, and Diane Lakatos, and her husband, John, all of Sayreville, and Lillian Hagins of South River; a daughter-in-law, Shelley Janosko of Mississippi; a brother, Vincent Beltran of Flemington; two sisters, June Emery of South Carolina and Ginger Riccardi of Brick; 19 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Sayreville. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Dorothy Delvecchio Murphy Mrs. Murphy, 73, of Old Bridge, died March 10, 2007, in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Her husband, John E. Murphy Jr., died in 2002. Surviving are four sons, John Murphy III, and his wife, Georgette, Joseph Murphy, and his wife, Kathy, Brian Murphy, and his fiancé, Kathy Fitzsimmons, and Michael Murphy, and his wife, Susan, all of Old Bridge; two daughters, Kim Brewster of Monroe and Cathy Wyer, and her husband, Kevin, of Old Bridge; and 12 grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Ambrose Church, Old Bridge. Interment was in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick.
Frank J. "Boss" Reale Sr. Mr. Reale, 72, of East Brunswick, died March 12, 2007, in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Prior to his retirement in 1985, he was co-owner of F&J Reale Painting, South River. Before that, he was the co-owner of R&B Painters and Technical Painting Inc., both South River. Surviving are two sons, Frank J. Reale Jr. of South River and Dean Reale of Old Bridge; a daughter, Denise Reale of Deerfield Beach, Fla.; a brother, Eugene Reale of Elizabeth; a niece and two nephews. Services were held at Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, Parlin section of Sayreville. Interment was in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Newark.
Judith Yanchyshyn Gatta Mrs. Gatta, 62, of East Brunswick, died March 17, 2007, at home. Her mother, Anne Yanchyshyn, died in 2006. Surviving are her husband, George Gatta; a son, George W. Gatta of South Amboy; a daughter, Victoria Ann Campagna of Howell; and a brother, William Yanchyshyn of Indian Mound, Tenn. A Mass was offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Alexander Laptosh Mr. Laptosh, 84, of South River, died March 18, 2007, at home. Prior to his retirement in 1985, he was employed as a supervisor at Tamarack Golf Course, East Brunswick, where he worked for 22 years. Surviving are his wife, Stella Kananovich Laptosh; two sons, Gary, and his wife, Stephanie, of Charlestown, W.Va., and Wayne, and his wife, Christine, of Gaithersburg, Md.; and several nieces and nephews. A service was held at Saints Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church, South River. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Rose Mildred Reider Lerman Mrs. Lerman, 86, of East Brunswick, died March 22, 2007, in Barbara E. Cheung Memorial Hospice, Edison. She was predeceased by her husband, Milton Lerman. Surviving are a son, Scott Lerman, and his wife, Nancy; a daughter, Mindy Kolbeck, and her husband, George; and a grandson. Graveside services were held at Solomon Cemetery, Clifton. Arrangements were under the direction of Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick.
Jan L. Leviton Mr. Leviton, 71, of East Brunswick, died March 21, 2007, at home. Surviving are his wife, Judith A. Berkenkopf Leviton; a son, David, and his wife, Amy, of South River; a daughter, Edie Shulman, and her husband, Ed, of Columbus, Ga.; and two grandchildren. Services were held at Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to the Roxey Ballet Company, 243 N. Union St., Lambertville, NJ 08530.
Theresa Fitzgerald LaPolla Mrs. LaPolla, 51, of Monroe, formerly of South River, died March 21, 2007, in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. She was employed as an administrative assistant with Gloria Nilson GMAC Real Estate, Monroe. She was predeceased by her father, Dennis Fitzgerald. Surviving are a sister, Beth Fornero of Monroe; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Services were held at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Interment was private.
Leslie A. Senko Ms. Senko, 54, of South River, died March 19, 2007, in Cranbury Center. She was predeceased by a sister, Joanne Sivess. Surviving are her parents, Steve and Joanne Suess Senko of South River; a sister, Michele Senko of Clifton; and an aunt and cousins. A Mass was offered at Corpus Christi Church, South River.
