Obituaries Anna Pawlus Bay Mrs. Bay, 87, of South River, died March 12, 2007, in CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. She was predeceased by her first husband, John Dragula, and by her second husband, Stephen Bay. Surviving are two daughters, Dorothy Clark, and her husband, Danny, of East Brunswick, and Laverne Jablonski, and her husband, Richard, of South River; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A Mass is planned for 9:30 a.m. on March 15 at St. Bartholomew's Church, East Brunswick. Private cremation will follow.
Jo Ann L. Scott DeFelice Mrs. DeFelice, 70, of East Brunswick, died March 11, 2007, in Cranbury Care Center. Surviving are her husband, Michael J. DeFelice; a son, Michael J. DeFelice Jr. of Newnan, Ga.; two daughters, Evelyn Pepin, and her husband, Armand, of East Brunswick, and Connie Ravo, and her husband, Gary, of Newnan; two brothers, James Blanch of Mystic, Conn., and Jerry Blanch of Morristown; a sister, Karen Wydner of Parsippany; and five grandchildren. Raymond Dupras Mr. Dupras, 89, of East Brunswick, formerly of Milltown, died March 7, 2007, at home. Surviving are his wife, Eva Accardi Dupras; two daughters, Yvette Pitra of Milltown and Yvonne Dupras-Waldron of the Windsor section of Washington Township; two grandchildren, Donna Moreen and Joseph Pitra; and one great-grandson. A Mass was offered at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Milltown. Entombment was in Saint Peter's Mausoleum, New Brunswick.
Richard Wayne Emmons Mr. Emmons, 56, of Florida, formerly of Monroe and South River, died Feb. 27, 2007, at home. His father, Robert Emmons, died in 1979. Surviving are his wife, Muriel; three children, Andrea Semanovich, and her husband, Jason, Richard Emmons and Jessica Emmons, all of South River; a niece, Brittany Kays, also of South River; his mother, Elizabeth; four brothers, Buddy, Russell, Allen and Martin; five sisters, Barbara Fabino, Liz Burrows, June Jennings, Carole Healey and Mary Ellen Kays; a granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held at Maliszewski Funeral Home, South River.
Florence M. Nelson Mrs. Nelson, 72, of South River, died March 9, 2007, in Barbara E. Cheung Memorial Hospice, Edison. Surviving are two sons, William, and his wife, Shannon, of Columbus, Ohio, and Russell, and his wife, Shari, of Plainsboro; a daughter, Kerri Gettler, and her husband, William, of Scotch Plains; and seven grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Mary of Ostrabrama Church, South River. Cremation was private. Irene Pesavage Leister Mrs. Leister, 74, of South River, died March 3, 2007, in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Prior to her retirement in 1992, she was employed as an inspector at Continental Can Co., Milltown, where she worked for 24 years. Her husband, William J. Leister, died in 1997; a son, William Jr., died in 1987; and another son, David, died in 1995. Surviving are a daughter, Deborah Curtin, and her husband, Rick, of South River; a son, Bruce Leister, and his wife, Sharon, of Stanhope; two brothers, George Pesavage and Thomas Skaudis, both of South River; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at Corpus Christi Church, South River. Interment was in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arnytown section of North Hanover. Joao Pacheco Grego Mr. Grego, 62, of South River, died March 5, 2007, while on vacation in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He was the owner of Gold Star Bar, South River, since 1986. Surviving are his wife, Arcelina Novo Grego; two daughters, Christine Grego, and her husband, Pablo Gonzalez, of South River and Lucyanne Queiroga, and her husband, Breno, of Spotswood; a son, Steven Grego of South River; a sister, Maria Zargo, and a brother, Manuel Grigo, both in Portugal; and five grandchildren. A Mass was offered at Corpus Christi Church, South River. Interment was in Washington Monumental Cemetery, South River.
Dorothy Fitzpatrick Miller Mrs. Miller, 83, of Milltown, died March 11, 2007, at home. Prior to her retirement in 1980, she was employed with Block Drug, Dayton section of South Brunswick. Before that, she worked for 10 years at W.T. Grant department store, North Brunswick. She was predeceased by her husband, Andrew J. Miller; by a grandson, Jason Lowrey; and by her twin brother, William. Surviving are a son, Thomas of Chalfont, Pa.; two daughters, Lynn Miller and Kathleen Hirsch, both of Milltown; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Arrangements were under the direction of Crabiel Home for Funerals, Milltown. Interment was in Van Liew Cemetery, North Brunswick. Sadie Metz Mrs. Metz, 88, of Freehold, died March 4, 2007, at home. Born in New York City, she had resided in Freehold for the past 65 years. She was a member of Congregation Agudath Achim, Freehold, and a past president of its Sisterhood. She was also a member of Hadassah. As an active supporter of CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township, she volunteered for hospital charity balls and auctions. Mrs. Metz was predeceased by a brother, Paul Gilbert. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, David B. Metz; two sons and daughters-in-law, Martin and Laura Metz of Monroe, and Larry and Paula Metz of Colts Neck; a daughter and son-in-law, Lorraine and Dr. Jeffrey Roffman of Little Silver; a sister, Evelyn Blumenthal of San Francisco; nine grandchildren and their five spouses; and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, followed by interment at the Hebrew Benefit Society Cemetery, Freehold Township. Henry Rosenzweig Mr. Rosenzweig, 89, of Monroe, died March 5, 2007, in Boca Raton Community Medical Center, Boca Raton, Fla. He was self-employed real-estate developer. His first wife, Ruth Rosenzweig, died in 1987. Surviving are his wife, Helena Rosenzweig; a daughter, Irene Wanderer; and two grandsons, Jason and Spencer Wanderer. Services were held at Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold. Interment was in Congregation Agudath Achim Cemetery, also Freehold. Edward Schickling Mr. Schickling, 69, of South River, died March 9, 2007, in Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was employed as a gasket maker with Alltite, South River. Surviving are his wife, Catherine "Penny" Schickling; a son, David Schickling of Marlboro; a daughter, Lorraine Atkinson, and her husband, Robert, of South River; a brother, William Schickling of South River; and two granddaughters. Renee Marowitz Mrs. Marowitz, 82, of Monroe, formerly of Freehold, died March 2, 2007, at home. Her twin brother, Paul Riemer, died in 1959. She was formerly employed by Davidofsky Dairies and Freehold Raceway and in her family-owned business, Pinky's Tot and Teen Shop, Freehold. Surviving are her husband, Alex Marowitz; 12 nephews and nieces; 16 great-nephews and great-nieces; a great-great-nephew and a great-great-niece; and many cousins. Services were held at Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold. Interment was in the Hebrew Benefit Society Cemetery, Freehold. Frederick J. Senft Mr. Senft, 82, of East Brunswick, died March 9, 2007, in Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was formerly employed by the East Brunswick Public Library, where he worked for 10 years. Surviving are his wife, Ethel Florio Senft; two sons, Frederick Senft, and his wife, Cindy Mesko, of Helmetta, and Robert Senft of East Brunswick; a sister, Pauline of Massachusetts; and a grandson. Services were held at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Cremation was private.
Eleanor R. Macesko Murray Mrs. Murray, 80, of Spotswood, died March 8, 2007, in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are her husband, Franklin V. Murray; two daughters, Karen Derechailo, and her husband, Steve, of East Brunswick and Lynn Ann Tommy, and her husband, Stanley, of Howell; three sons, Franklyn Jr., and his wife, Gayle, of Gainesville, Fla., Daniel, and his wife, JoAnn, of Langhorne, Pa., and Kevin, and his wife, Linda, of Clinton, Ark.; a brother, Joseph Macesko of Brick; two sisters, Mary Paterson of Jackson and Veronica Carpenter of Bayonne; eight grandchildren; a step-grandson; and a great-granddaughter.
