Stars and stripes

Colin Joyce, of Boy Scout Troop 223, of East Brunswick, refurbished and decorated a retired U.S. postal mail box, converting it into an official flag drop station. Residents can now discard used and worn American flags at the township's recycling center, Dunhams Corner Road, and they will be officially retired via ceremony and disposed of properly. It is against the law to dispose of an American flag through other means. The mail box was donated by East Brunswick Elks Lodge 2370. The project enabled Colin to finish his requirements to become a Star Scout. Pictured with Colin is Ralph Langone of the recycling center staff.
