Widen Route 535 now; drivers have suffered long enough Finishing the last section of Route 522 with four lanes to Route 535 is a priority this year for South Brunswick's mayor. That would expedite tractor-trailer traffic to all the warehouses along Ridge Road (Route 522) but would leave a bottleneck on the two-lane Route 535 to the New Jersey Turnpike Exit-8A area. When will Middlesex County use some of the millions of dollars it gets in annual property taxes from property owners in this area to bring Route 535 into the 21st century? Widening Route 535 would benefit the county's economy by making this a more desirable business location. It would get trucks in and out of our area faster and would also help alleviate the long lines of commuters, morning and night. Thousands of drivers in the Monroe, Cranbury and Jamesburg area, including those who live in East Brunswick and work in South Brunswick, are inconvenienced every day, and we shouldn't suffer any longer. Middlesex County Board of Chosen Freeholders, please note: We wait in traffic, and we vote.
