Lawrence Edward Mortensen

Mr. Mortensen, 59, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., formerly of Longmeadow, Mass., and Monroe, died Dec. 30, 2006. He was predeceased by his father, Jacob Mortensen. Surviving are his wife, Barbara Schaffer Mortensen; three children, Wendy Cerbie, and her husband, Douglas, of Monroe, Karyn McManus, and her husband, Dennis, of East Longmeadow, Mass., and Lawrence Mortensen of West Springfield, Mass.; his mother, Dorothy Notton Mortensen of Murells Inlet, S.C., formerly of East Brunswick; and four grandchildren. Services were held at the Willow Chapel of Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, East Longmeadow. William P. Dickey

Mr. Dickey, 79, of Monroe, formerly of East Brunswick, died Jan. 7, 2007, in Lyons Campus, Veterans Affairs New Jersey Health Care System, Bernards. Surviving are his wife, Marie Stiglianese Dickey; two sons, William Dickey of Fair Lawn and James Dickey of Huntington Beach, Calif.; three daughters, Betty Toto of Cranbury, Carol Hannon of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Donna Swinesburg of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; two brothers, James Dickey of Long Island, N.Y., and Raymond Dickey of South Carolina; and six grandchildren. Visitation is set for 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Jan. 11 at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. A Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. on Jan. 12 at St. Bartholomew's Church, East Brunswick. Interment will follow in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arnytown section of North Hanover. Frank Krimin

Mr. Krimin, 92, of South River, died Jan. 7, 2007, in Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. His wife, Helen Toth Krimin, died in 1980. Surviving are two daughters, Barbara VanCleaf of Georgia and Eleanor Robinson of Arizona; a sister, Helen Toth of Florida; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. A Mass is planned for 9 a.m. on Jan. 11 at St. Stephen Protomartyr Church, South River. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.

Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Croll

Mrs. Croll, 67, of East Brunswick, died Jan. 3, 2007, in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. She was an East Brunswick Democratic committeewoman for 17 years. A son, David J., died in 1990. Surviving are her husband, Richard J. Croll; a son, Richard J. Croll Jr. of Westtown, N.Y.; two daughters, Jacqueline "Jackie" Grady of East Brunswick and Helene April Croll of Florida; two sisters, Dorothy King of Hubbardston, Mass., and Martha Bremer of East Brunswick; nine grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a goddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services were held at Calvary Gospel Church, East Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Gospel Church, 614 Dunhams Corner Road, East Brunswick, NJ 08816.

Dorothy E. Oliver

Ms. Oliver, 71, of Old Bridge, died Jan. 4, 2007, in Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Surviving are four cousins, Chris Brewer of New Hampshire, and Dana Freiburg, Lisa Kudrick and Eugene Freiburg, all of Union Beach; a nephew, Robert Oliver, and a niece, Nancy Linke, both of Jamesburg; and three great-nieces and one great-nephew. Services were held at Day Funeral Home, Keyport. Interment was in Green Grove Cemetery, also Keyport. Richard Caruso

Mr. Caruso, 56, of Calabash, N.C., formerly of East Brunswick, died Jan. 3, 2007, in the Medical University of South Carolina Hospital, Charleston, S.C. Surviving are his wife Ellen Parrilla Caruso; two daughters, Louise Ratzlaff, and her husband, Ian, and Valerie Gambardella, and her husband, Pascal, all of Tinton Falls; and two brothers, Randolph Caruso of Freehold and Rory Caruso of East Brunswick. A Mass was offered at St. Bartholomew's Church, East Brunswick. Interment was in Long Island National Cemetery, Farmingdale, N.Y. Constance "Connie" T. Wowak Mazurek

Mrs. Mazurek, 73, of South River, formerly of Spotswood, died Jan. 6, 2007, at home. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur "Sonny" Mazurek, and by a son, Christopher Mazurek. Surviving are two daughters, Margaret Ann Mazurek-Hansen of South River and Deborah Mazurek of Jackson; a son, Arthur Mazurek Jr. of Honolulu, Hawaii; two brothers, John Wowak Jr., and Thomas Wowak, both of Long Island, N.Y.; a sister, Charlotte Sarnowski of Stockbridge, Ga.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Gary J. Fullman

Mr. Fullman, 67, of Sayreville, died Jan. 2, 2007, in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Joyce Pascocello Fullman; and a daughter, Caryn Fullman, and a son, Craig Fullman, both of Sayreville. Services were held at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Entombment was in Hollywood Cemetery, Union.

Ida Mae Manning

Mrs. Manning, 72, of Old Bridge, died Jan. 7, 2007, at home. She was a manager for the Old Bridge Township Ice Arena for 30 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert J. Manning Sr. Surviving are a son, Robert J. Manning Jr. of Old Bridge; five daughters, Linda Manning of Sebastian, Fla., Marilyn Caldwell of Monroe, Doreen Cifrodella of West Palm Beach, Fla., Mary Manning of Las Vegas, Nev., and Denise Hurley of Matawan; a brother, Howard Clayton of Cranford; a sister, Lorraine Mason of Piscataway; 11 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass is planned for 10 a.m. on Jan. 11 at St. Ambrose Church, Old Bridge. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. The Rev. Donald Kenneth Balfour

The Rev. Balfour, 83, formerly of South River, died Jan. 7, 2007. He was pastor of Tabernacle Baptist Church, South River, from 1952-1985. While at Tabernacle, he was instrumental in the creation of a new house of worship, and he established a bus ministry that allowed children to get to church on Sunday and vacation Bible school in the summer. He was predeceased by his wife, Marie Van Yperen Balfour. Surviving are four children, Tom Balfour of New Market, Md., Ruth Ehrich of Chesterfield, Sen. Donald K. Balfour of Snellville, Ga., and Debbie Buonocore of South Brunswick; and six grandchildren. Services are planned for 10 a.m. on Jan. 11 at Tabernacle Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Van Liew Cemetery, North Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to the Word of Life Bible Institute, Balfour Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 600, Schroon Lake, NY 12870.
