Man accused of showing buttocks to shoppers, twice

EAST BRUNSWICK - A 37-year-old township man was arrested for allegedly exposing his buttocks to a woman and her 8-year-old daughter inside a local grocery store.

The incident, which police said took place in the Pathmark on Route 18 at 5:59 p.m. Monday, was recorded by the security video cameras and was observed by a store loss prevention officer, according to a press release from the East Brunswick Police Department.

The suspect, Ronald Jakubowski, was observed following the woman and child and bending over, lowering his pants, and exposing his buttocks. When police arrived at the store, they interviewed the alleged victims and the store loss prevention officer.

Jakubowski was then located and placed under arrest.

At police headquarters, Jakubowski was interviewed by detectives regarding the incident. After the interview, police said they believe he was also responsible for an incident reported on Dec. 20, when a male pulled down his pants and exposed his buttocks to two township girls, ages 10 and 11. That incident also took place at Pathmark, police said.

Jakubowski was charged with two counts of lewdness and two counts of child endangerment. He was transferred to the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center, North Brunswick, and held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
