Gwendolyn N. Hanes Goddard

Mrs. Goddard, 92, of East Brunswick, died Dec. 27, 2006, in Care One, East Brunswick. Her husband, Theodore, died in 1980. Surviving are a daughter, Diane Plumser, and her husband, Allan, of East Brunswick; a son, Richard of Horseshoe Bend, Idaho; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, East Brunswick. Graveside services were held at Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse, N.Y. Alice DeQuinzio Kozma

Mrs. Kozma, 82, of East Brunswick, died Dec. 28, 2006, in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Prior to her retirement in 1987, she was employed as a school bus driver for 23 years with the East Brunswick Board of Education. Her husband, George Kozma, died in 1992. Surviving are a son, George Kozma Jr., and his wife, Laura, of the Robbinsville section of Washington Township; three brothers, James DeQuinzio Jr. of Jersey City, Thomas DeQuinzio of Fort Myers, Fla., and John DeQuinzio of Bradenton, Fla.; two sisters, Marie Williamson of Knoxville, Tenn., and Dolores Bray of Fort Myers; and a granddaughter and grandson. A Mass was offered at Corpus Christi Church, South River. Entombment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.

Veronica Keogh O'Reilly

Mrs. O'Reilly, 89, of East Brunswick, died Dec. 30, 2006, in McCarrick Care Center, Somerset section of Franklin. Her husband, Thomas O'Reilly, died in 1988. Surviving are two sons, Andrew O'Reilly of East Brunswick and Richard O'Reilly of North Brunswick; a daughter, Lorraine Murphy of Glen Rock; a sister, Rita Lewis of Closter; and seven grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Bartholomew's Church, East Brunswick. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery, Woodside, N.Y. Louis Rose

Mr. Rose, 85, of Monroe, died Dec. 27, 2006, in University Medical Center at Princeton. Surviving are his wife, Shirley Osheroff Rose; a son, Mark of Newtown, Pa.; two daughters, Renee Hirschfeld of Edison and Vicki Feierstein of Fair Lawn; a sister, Gloria Barsky of Hackensack; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Services were held at Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick. Interment was in Beth El Cemetery, Washington Township. Vincent A. Scire

Mr. Scire, 88, of the Toms River section of Dover, formerly of Spotswood, died Dec. 30, 2006 in Community Medical Center, Toms River. He was predeceased by his wife, Johanna Scire. Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jack Scire of East Windsor and Victor and Carol Scire of Cranbury; a sister, Rose Chianchano of Wayne; and two grandchildren. Services are planned for 9 a.m. on Jan. 5 at A.S. Cole Funeral Home, Cranbury. Interment will follow in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arnytown section of North Hanover. Mr. Gill, 86, of the Parlin section of Old Bridge, died Jan. 1, 2007, in Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Surviving are his wife, Rita Sheils Gills; four sons, Jim of Freehold, and Kevin, Brian and Gerard, all of Old Bridge; two daughters, Nancy Lynch of Old Bridge and Kathryn Kitt of Cos Cob, Conn.; three brothers, Thomas of Belmar, Frank of Freehold and Joseph of Nevada; a sister, Joan Carey of Pompano Beach, Fla.; three grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Services are set for 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 5 at Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, Old Bridge. A Mass will follow at 9:30 a.m. at St. Bernadette's Church, Parlin.

Thomas M. Hunt

Mr. Hunt, 77, of Old Bridge, died Dec. 31, 2006, at home. He was predeceased by a son, Thomas, and by a grandson, Derick. Surviving are his wife, Catherine Heidel Hunt; five sons, Edward of Hightstown, James of East Brunswick, John of Doylestown, Pa., William of Old Bridge and Peter of the Toms River section of Dover; a daughter, Catherine Anne Hunt of Old Bridge; a sister, Mary Vaughan of Florida; and eight grandchildren. A Mass is planned for 11 a.m. on Jan. 5, 2007, at St. Ambrose Church, Old Bridge. Interment will follow in St. Gabriel's Cemetery, Marlboro.

Joseph Kosmo

Mr. Kosmo, 83, of Old Bridge, died Dec. 22, 2006, in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. His wife, Madeline Kosmo, died in 2003. Surviving are a daughter, Madeline Lynn McCaskill of Piscataway; two sons, Joseph Kosmo of North Brunswick and Carl Kosmo of Lincolnville, Maine; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Mary of Ostrabrama Church, South River. Entombment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary of Ostrabrama Church, South River.

John R. Latham

Mr. Latham, 58, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, died Dec. 27, 2006, at home. Prior to his retirement in 2002, he was employed as a truck driver with Ferrell Gas, Woodbridge. He was predeceased by his parents, Angelina and John Latham. Surviving are his wife, Linda Eichert Latham; three sisters, Mary Ann Kruger of South Bound Brook, Patricia Wordel of Mount Olive, N.C., and Elaine Gerwer of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; many nieces and nephews; and 12 great-nieces and great-nephews. Services were held at Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, Parlin. Entombment was in Cloverleaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge.

Florence Jasionowski Luteran

Mrs. Luteran, 80, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, formerly of South River, died Dec. 24, 2006, in Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. Prior to her retirement in 1957, she was employed as a manager and hairdresser at Gay's Beauty Shop, New Brunswick, where she worked for 12 years. Her husband, Joseph A. Luteran, died in 1999. Surviving are a daughter, Maryann "Sandy" Owsik of Sayreville; a son, Joseph W. Luteran, also of Sayreville; a brother, Dr. Edward Jasionowski of Parlin; three sisters, Clair Pilecki and Lorraine Alexander, both of South River, and Helen Roginski of Palm Harbor, Fla.; and three grandchildren. A Mass was offered at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Brunswick.

Emily Pulda Miller

Mrs. Miller, 89, of South River, died Jan. 2, 2007, at home. She was predeceased by her husband, Douglas J. Surviving is a daughter, Doris Miller. A Mass is set for 9 a.m. on Jan. 6, 2007, at St. Stephen Protomartyr Church, South River. Interment will follow in New Calvary Cemetery, Sayreville. Nicola B. Popolizio

Mr. Popolizio, 38, of South Amboy, died Dec. 23, 2006. A U.S. Army veteran, he was a sergeant first class with the U.S. Army Reserve, serving a tour of duty in Iraq from November 2002-September 2003. He was predeceased by his mother, Sarah Caroppo Popolizio. Surviving are his wife, Domenica Ateniese-Popolizio; a daughter, Juliana; his father, Nicola; three brothers, Angelo, Pasquale and Tommaso; and three sisters, Maria, Margherita and Rosetta. A Mass was offered at St. Mary's Church, South Amboy. Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.

Janette Fross Rupp

Mrs. Rupp, 92, of Manahawkin, formerly of Sayreville, died Dec. 25, 2006, in Southern Ocean County Hospital, Manahawkin. She was the co-founder, with her late husband, John Rupp, of Rupp's Ace Hardware, Sayreville, in 1946. Surviving are two children, Raymond J. Rupp, and his wife, Andy, of Sayreville and Janet Wyrsch, and her husband, David, of Manahawkin; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Interment was private. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 1 Union St., Suite 301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691.

Francis "Frank" A. Sankner

Mr. Sankner, 81, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, died Dec. 25, 2006, at home. Surviving are his wife, Marie Logan Sankner; two sons, Robert of Jamesburg and Francis "Ozzie" of Evington, Va.; a daughter, Monica Sankner-Giovanni; a sister, Ann Ugi of Piscataway; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services were held at Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, Parlin. Interment was in New Calvary Cemetery, also Parlin.

Alexander Zappy Jr.

Mr. Zappy, 84, of Old Bridge, died Dec. 23, 2006, in Victoria House, Matawan. He was employed as a court clerk for 25 years with the Middlesex County Court system. He then was a Middlesex County constable for 20 years. Surviving are his wife, Lucille Tancredi Zappy; a son, Mark Zappy of Plainsboro; a daughter, Robin Farner, and her husband, Alan, of Bridgewater; and two grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
