Hadassah program will address aging

East Brunswick Hadassah will sponsor a program titled “Our Parents, Ourselves: Looking Ahead to the Challenges of Growing Older” at 7:45 p.m. on Jan. 8 at the East Brunswick Jewish Center, 511 Ryders Lane.

Panelists will include geriatric-care manager Liz Salston, attorney Ben Menashe and long-term care insurance specialist Betty Keller. Topics will include options to enable an individual to maintain independence as long as possible; financial and legal planning issues such as Medicaid eligibility and competency; and reasons to consider long-term care insurance that could cover the cost of home-health aides, assisted living, adult day care and nursing-home care.

The meeting is free of charge and open to the public.
