Holiday gift-card campaign begins in E.B. Due to the generosity of individuals, community volunteer groups, local businesses, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Brownie troops, the public schools, churches, religious organizations and various other civic organizations, the township of East Brunswick recently arranged for more than 85 families and senior citizens to receive assistance for the Thanksgiving holiday. The families were provided with food baskets for their Thanksgiving tables. Many of the families have been "adopted" for the Christmas holiday, but there are still more in need. The township is now accepting donations of gift cards in any denomination to local department stores such as Target and K-mart. The cards will be distributed to the "adopted" families so that the mothers and fathers may shop for their children for the Christmas holiday. To donate a gift card, make the purchase and mail the card to the East Brunswick Division of Recreation, Attn: Karen Kecskes, 350 Dunhams Corner Road, East Brunswick, NJ 08816.
