Spotswood tree lighting scheduled for Dec. 2
The Spotswood Recreation Department will sponsor the 16th annual borough Holiday Tree-Lighting Ceremony beginning at 6 p.m. on Dec. 2 at the Main Street Triangle, across from the Spotswood Library. Chorus groups from Appleby School, Memorial School, Spotswood High School and the Spotswood Girl Scouts will entertain with songs of the season. The event also will feature hot chocolate and goodies and a visit from Santa. For more information, call (732) 416-1834.
Sounds of the season to be heard at concert
Philomusica Choir will present "Echoes of Mystery and Joy - A Celebration of the Season" at 8 p.m. on Dec. 2 and at 4 p.m. on Dec. 3 at Our Lady of Peace Church, 277 Washington Place/Route 130, North Brunswick. The concert will feature William Byrd's "Mass in Four Voices"; three settings each of "O Magnum Mysterium" by Byrd, Tomas Luis de Vittoria and Francis Poulenc; "Hodie Christus Natus Est" by Byrd, Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck and Poulenc; jazz-influenced Alfred Burt carols; and familiar carols of the season. Tricky Tray/Vendor Night to be rescheduled
The Cheesequake School PTA second annual Tricky Tray/Vendor Night, set for 6:30-9 p.m. on Dec. 1 at the school, Route 34, Old Bridge, has been canceled. The event will be rescheduled. For more information, call Kim at (732) 290-2228.
