• Fresh Pierogi and Blintz Sale, sponsored by St. Stanislaus Kostka Rosary Altar Society, Sayreville. • Holiday Grave Blanket Sale, sponsored by St. Mary's Altar Rosary Society, South River. Cost is $22 for a 36-inch blanket decorated with pine cones, poinsettias, bow. • Adopt-A-Family, sponsored by the South River Elementary School PTA, to make the holiday season more enjoyable for disadvantaged children in South River. Categories include sports tickets, shows, restaurants, salons, jewelry, getaways, kids stuff, summer camps, home goods, collectibles, health/beauty, professional services. New items added weekly. Dec. 1

• Student Dance, open to young people in seventh-ninth grades, sponsored by St. Bart's Buffalo Jr. Midget Cheerleaders, 7:30-10 p.m., at the Milltown Senior Center, Violet Terrace. Proceeds help fund cheerleaders' upcoming trip to the national championships in Walt Disney World, Orlando, Fla. DJ, dancing, prizes. Milltown police officer present. Adult chaperones. Dec. 1, 2 & 3

• Winter Wonderland 2006, sponsored by Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Milltown, 8-11 p.m. on Dec. 1, 7-10 p.m. on Dec. 2, 4-7 p.m. on Dec. 3. Stroll along Mill Pond Path, at the Milltown Rescue Squad Building, Main Street, or take a ride down Ford Avenue in a horse-drawn carriage. Cost is $7 for adults, $5 for seniors and children, for path stroll; $20 for carriage ride, maximum four guests per ride.
