Youngsters invited to Elks free-throw contest

East Brunswick Elks Lodge No. 2370 will sponsor its annual Basketball Hoop Shoot from 7-9 p.m. on Dec. 5 at East Brunswick High School, Cranbury Road. The event is open to boys and girls ages 8-12, as of April 1. All participants will be recognized. Winners in each age group (boys and girls) will advance to the next round of play.

The Helmetta Recreation Department will sponsor two upcoming activities. Movie and Pizza Night, featuring a screening of "Ice Age: The Meltdown" is set for 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 1 at Borough Hall, Main Street. A 55 and Older Holiday Dinner will take place at 5 p.m. on Dec. 3 at St. George's Church Hall, 56 Main St.
