Arthur Kananovich

Mr. Kananovich, 90, of South River, died Sept. 1 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a chemical operator at E.I. DuPont Photo Products, Parlin section of Sayreville, where he worked for 27 years. His wife, Mary Gritsko Kananovich, died in 1972. Surviving are two brothers, Archie Kananovich of East Brunswick and Alexander Kananovich of Watertown, Mass.; three sisters, Sonia Plutnick of East Brunswick, Nina Karwatt of Sayreville and Florence Mayo of Lunenburg, Mass.; 22 nieces and nephews; and four great-nephews. A service was held at Saints Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church, South River. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Paul A. Bolebruch

Mr. Bolebruch, 48, of Monroe, formerly of South Brunswick, died Sept. 6 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was chief engineer at The Hilton Gardens, Edison, for the past year. His father, Paul, died in 1983. Surviving are his mother, Jane Bogola Bolebruch; three brothers, Matthew of Spotswood, Edward of North Brunswick and William of Bordentown; a sister, Stephanie McPhail of the Somerset section of Franklin; a niece, Corinne Bolebruch; his companion, Christine Izzo and her children; and four step-grandchildren. Services were held at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Cremation was private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lance Armstrong Foundation, National Processing Center, P.O. Joseph J. "Michigan Joe" Podsiadlik

Mr. Podsiadlik, 81, of South River, died Sept. 1 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to his retirement in 1987, he was employed as a laboratory technician with Carter Wallace Inc., Cranbury, where he worked for 42 years. Surviving are his wife, Beatrice Czaplinski Podsiadlik; a son, Joseph Podsiadlik of the Parlin section of Sayreville; a brother, Felix Podsiadlik of Lewiston, Mich.; a granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Mary of Ostrabrama Church, South River. Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Brunswick.

Dennis Albert Romano Jr.

Mr. Romano, 34, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, died Sept. 5 in JFK Medical Center, Edison. He was a DJ for more than 15 years. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Lena and Anthony Allocca. Surviving are his parents, Diane and Dennis Romano of Parlin; a brother, Michael, also of Parlin; his paternal grandparents, Josephine and Albert Romano of Brooklyn, N.Y.; three aunts and three uncles; and many cousins. A Mass was offered at St. Bernadette's Church, Parlin section of Old Bridge. Interment was in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, Sayreville.

John H. Sengstack Jr.

Mr. Sengstack, 58, of Sayreville, died Sept. 3 in Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was predeceased by his parents, John H. Sr. and Ella Montrey Sengstack. Surviving are his wife, Karen Geipel Sengstack of Sayreville; a daughter, Carrie Anne Cohen of Helmetta; two sisters, Susan Wendling of Monroe and Jill Shanko of East Brunswick; a brother, Perry Sengstack of Old Bridge; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Irene and Richard Geipel of Old Bridge; two sisters-in-law, Patricia Costigan of Sayreville and Jo-Anne Fallon of Jamesburg; a grandson; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Services were held at Maliszewski Memorial Home, Sayreville. Interment was in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick.

Sidney H. Sesser

Mr. Sesser, 90, of Colorado, formerly of Monroe, died Sept. 9 in Balfour Nursing Home, Louisville, Colo. His wife, Marilyn Richlin Sesser, died in 2005. Surviving are a son, Andrew Sesser, and his life partner, Cheryl Dial, of Broomfield, Colo.; a sister, Shirley Bakal of New York; and a granddaughter, Hannah Sesser. Services were held at Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick. Interment was in Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge.

Irene Kopor Buga

Mrs. Buga, 93, of South River, died Sept. 8 in Reformed Church Home, Old Bridge. Prior to her retirement in 1982, she was an elementary school teacher in South River. Her husband, Michael Buga, died in 1994. Surviving are a daughter, Diane Kelleher, and her husband, Timothy, of Toronto; and two nieces, Marlene Varga Carlson of New Jersey and Gloria Varga Lucas of Maryland. Services were held at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Interment was in Washington Monumental Cemetery, South River.

Margaret L. Schroeder Hansen

Mrs. Hansen, 82, of Spotswood, died Sept. 9 in Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to her retirement in 1985, she was a line inspector with E.R. Squibb, North Brunswick, where she worked for 21 years. Her husband, Clifford, died in 1991. Surviving are two sons, Clifford of East Brunswick and Joseph of Sayreville; two daughters, Margaret D'Aiuto of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and Judith Learn of Bordentown; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Services were held at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.

Charles J. McBride

Mr. McBride, 81, died Sept. 6 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to his retirement, he was an engineer with RPMS Consulting Engineers, Jamesburg, where he worked for 10 years. Surviving are his wife, Clare Schwarz McBride; a daughter, Mary Bursac of North Brunswick; three sons, Charles J. Jr. of Stockton, Andrew of South Brunswick and Gary of East Brunswick; a brother, Joseph McBride of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and seven grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Bartholomew's Church, East Brunswick. Entombment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society, c/o St. Bartholomew's Church, 460 Ryders Lane, East Brunswick, NJ 08816.

Martin Schneck

Mr. Schneck, 77, of Old Bridge, died Sept. 9 at home. He was a real estate broker with Eric Brahm Realty, North Brunswick, where he worked for 25 years. He was predeceased by his wife, Bobbie Jean. Surviving are three sons, Marc and Sandor, both of Old Bridge, and Mikel of Brown Deer, Wis.; a daughter, Susan Schneck Sinberg of Yardley, Pa.; two brothers, Jake Schneck of Royal Palm Beach, Fla., and Edward Schneck of Spotswood; two sisters, Frieda Niebergal of Sparta and Frances Sall of Woodcliff Lake; and three grandchildren. Services were held at Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick. Entombment was in Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 2550 Route 1, North Brunswick, NJ 08902-4301.

Theresa Kriss Puhalski

Mrs. Puhalski, 87, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, died Sept. 9 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Prior to her retirement in 1991, she was employed as a cook at the Pumpkin Shell Restaurant and at Lillie Langtry Restaurant, Old Bridge. Her husband, Joseph Puhalski, died in 1999. Surviving are four sons, Joseph of San Rafael, Calif., Thomas of Hatfield, Pa., John of Hyde Park, N.Y., and James of Parlin; a former daughter-in-law, Lois; and 10 grandchildren. A Mass is planned for 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 14 at Sacred Heart Church, South Amboy. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Parlin.
