Residents invited to enter county fair home-arts competition

If you are an amateur crafter, photographer, artist, sewer, baker, canner or gardener, I would like to invite you to enter your work in this year's Middlesex County Fair Home Arts.

We have adult, child (by age) and special-participant divisions. There is no entry fee. The items are judged. First-, second- and third-place and honorable-mention ribbons may be awarded in each class. The articles remain on display in our building for the duration of the fair.

For a complete listing of the many categories, rules and an entry form, please visit our Web site at http://co.middlesex.nj.us/extensionservices/county_fair.asp. You may also view the fair book at your local library.

All items are to be brought to the fairgrounds on Cranbury Road in East Brunswick on Sunday, Aug. 6, from 1-5 p.m. I encourage everyone to enter and to come see the handiwork of our very talented residents.

The Middlesex County Fair will take place Monday, Aug. 7, through Sunday, Aug. 13. There will be 4-H displays, entertainment, rides and food. I hope to see you there.
