Obituaries Nicholas J. Vallone Mr. Vallone, 77, of the Cliffwood Beach section of Old Bridge, died June 14 in Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. His wife, Ida Cancro Vallone, died in 1999. Surviving are a son, Paul V. Vallone of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Cathy McAleer of East Brunswick and Lisa Pankiewicz of Freehold; a sister, Maryann Lubrano of North Bergen; and four grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Lawrence Church, Laurence Harbor. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, East Brunswick.
William E. "Billy" O'Leary Mr. O'Leary, 66, of Heritage Pines, Hudson, Fla., formerly of South Amboy, died June 15 at home. Surviving are his wife, Linda Kojzar O'Leary; three sons, Patrick of Williams, Ariz., William of Sayreville and Michael of East Brunswick; a daughter, Eileen; a brother, Edward of Nevada; three sisters, Anne Marie Cronin, Peggy Wahler and Mary Chodkiewicz, all of South Amboy; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services were held at Gundrum Service Home for Funerals, South Amboy. Interment was in Christ Church Cemetery, South Amboy. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sayreville Association for Brain Injured Children.
Evelyn Adams Clencewicki Mrs. Clencewicki, 80, of South River, died June 23 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. She was predeceased by two brothers, Norbert and Thomas Adams; and three sisters, Margaret Parker, Norma Gryzwack and Alice Lang. Mrs. Clencewicki is survived by her husband, Michael; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Alan Clencewicki of Bernardsville, and Dr. Michael and Judy Clencewicki of Marlboro; and two grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, South River. Arrangements were by the Maliszewski Funeral Home, South River. Janice E. Locorriere Bryant Mrs. Bryant, 70, of the Cliffwood Beach section of Old Bridge, died July 1 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. She was a former councilwoman in Aberdeen. Mrs. Bryant was predeceased by her father, Elmer Lorenz; and her first husband, Vincent Locorriere. She is survived by her husband, James Bryant; her mother, Alice Lorenz of Virginia; two sons, Steven Locorriere of Aberdeen and Robert Locorriere of Keansburg; two daughters, Suzanne Baker of Covington, Ga., and Lisa Kmak of Atlantic Highlands; two brothers, Robert Lorenz of Virginia and Roy Lorenz of Arizona; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Keyport, followed by interment at Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Hazlet. The Day Funeral Home, Keyport, was in charge of arrangements.
Evelyn I. Larity Cranwell Mrs.. Cranwell, 61, of Hazlet, died July 2 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. She was a tax assessor for Hazlet Township, where she was employed 20 years. She was a member of the Tax Assessor Association of New Jersey. Mrs. Cranwell is survived by her husband, Aloysius Cranwell; two daughters, Evelyn Strelsky and Elizabeth Nappi, both of Hazlet; two sisters, Susan Russo of Hazlet and Margaret Spino of East Brunswick; a brother, Frank Larity of Hazlet; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, Keansburg. Arrangements were by the Day Funeral Home, Keyport.
Andrew Jobson Mr. Jobson, 97, of Monroe Township, died June 27 at McCarrick Care Center, Franklin Township. He was predeceased by his wife, Mavis Groskopf Jobson, in 1990. Mr. Jobson is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Marlene of Wilbraham, Mass., Ronald and Maureen of East Brunswick, and Barry and Joyce of Linconville, Maine; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Maria "Mary" Critelli De Stefano Mrs. De Stefano, 97, of Spotswood, died July 2 at Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was predeceased by her husband, Patrick De Stefano Sr., in 2002. Mrs. De Stefano is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Anthony and Cynthia of Monroe, Daniel and Patricia of Spotswood, and Patrick Jr. and Patricia of Spotswood; five daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and Fred Byrne of Pennsylvania, Roberta and James Dittmyre of Spotswood, Mary Ann and Edward Strehl of Pennsylvania, Dolores and James Pope of Spotswood, and Patricia and Andrew Sanchez of Freehold; 26 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, Spotswood. The Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick, was in charge of arrangements.
Barbara Munson Goff Mrs. Goff, 61, of South River, died June 25 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was assistant dean of academic programs at Cook College, New Brunswick, the past 33 years. She was predeceased by her father, Granville Munson Jr., in 2000. Mrs. Goff is survived by her husband of 36 years, Frederick J. Goff; her mother, Carolyn Moyle Munson of Richmond, Va.; an aunt; a niece; and a nephew. Interment was at Washington Monumental Cemetery, South River. The Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick, was in charge of arrangements. Helen Nowicki Sofilkanich Mrs. Sofilkanich, 78, of East Brunswick, died June 19 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Her husband, John Sofilkanich, died in 2002. Surviving are three sons, John J. Sofilkanich and Robert Sofilkanich, both of East Brunswick, and Donald Sofilkanich of South Amboy; and a granddaughter. A Mass was offered at St. Bartholomew's Church, East Brunswick. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
Joseph Herko Sr. Mr. Herko, 74, of Spotswood, died June 25 at Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was a Life Member of Spotswood First Aid Squad. He was predeceased by five siblings, Anna, Helen, George, John and Mary. Mr. Herko is survived by his wife of 49 years, Anna Liptock Herko; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Anne and Robert Coffey of Spotswood; two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Krystyna Herko Jr. of South River, and Michael and Melissa Herko of Rahway; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Irene and Jack Wislotsky of Kulpmont, Pa., and Dorothy and Edward Rachilla of New Brunswick; and five grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at Nativity Byzantine Catholic Church, East Brunswick, followed by interment at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. The Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick, was in charge of arrangements. Walter G. Tardy Mr. Tardy, 73, of Old Bridge, died June 11 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. His wife, Geraldine, died in 2004. Surviving are a son, Paul of East Brunswick; a daughter, Catherine M. Coposky of Englishtown; and three grandsons. A funeral service was held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Claire Jankowski Berecsky Mrs. Berecsky, 53, of Sayreville, died June 18 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Prior to her retirement, she was employed for five years as a supervisor at Home Depot, Milltown. Surviving are her husband, Frank Berecsky; four sons, Frank and Dominick, both of Keansburg, Steven of Monroe and James of the Parlin section of Sayreville; two brothers, Frank Jankowski of Florida and Stephen Jankowski of Howell; seven sisters, JoAnn Gonzalez of Florida, Susan Gioffre of Parlin, Carol Underwood of North Carolina, Donna Jankowski of Middletown, Melodee Jankowski of Carteret, Rose Trilone of High Bridge and Deborah Hyle of the Forked River section of Lacey; and 10 grandchildren. Services were held at Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, Parlin. Cremation was private.
Ronald Preston Prihodko Mr. Prihodko, 43, of Milltown, died June 30 at home. Born in Homestead, Fla., he resided in Milltown most of his life. He was a computer operator at Merrill Lynch, Levittown, Pa. He is survived by his parents, Peer and Gracia Parisi Prihodko of Milltown; two brothers, David Williams of Winter Park, Fla., and Peter A. Prihodko of Morristown; and three sisters, Jan Prihodko and Paula Greer, both South Brunswick, and Lorna Gnoinski of Nutley. Interment was at Elmwood Cemetery, North Brunswick. Arrangements were by Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick.
