Obituaries Richard M. Sudder Mr. Sudder, 58, of Palm Beach County, Fla., formerly of South River, died March 17 in Palm Beach County . He was a pilot in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War era, 1970-75. He was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Mary Pozai Sudder. Surviving are his wife, Sherry; two sons, Capt. Richard M. Sudder II, U.S. Army Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps, Washington, D.C., and Maj. Keith Sudder, U.S. Air Force, and his wife, Kimberly, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a sister, Mary Ann Rankin of South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to the Reserve Officers Association (R.O.A.), Suite No. 300, 808 17th St. N.W., Washington, DC 20006, Attn: Richard Thralls. Emma Fodor Boelhouwer Mrs. Boelhouwer, 94, of East Brunswick, died March 26 in Francis E. Parker Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Prior to her retirement in 1976, she was employed at Ethicon Sutures, Johnson and Johnson, New Brunswick, where she worked for 37 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Jacob Boelhouwer, in 1968; a son, Jacob "Jack" Boelhouwer, in 1977; a son-in-law, Earl "Bud" Conover, in 1978; and a daughter, Christine Boelhouwer Conover, in 1995. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Virginia Boelhouwer of Dillsburg, Pa.; a sister, Helen Fodor Jost of Clarks Summit, Pa.; a daughter-in-law, Margaret Wheeler Boelhouwer of Las Vegas, Nev.; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Interment was in Elmwood Cemetery, North Brunswick. Arrangements were under the direction of Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick. Claire T. Jaskowiak Bogaczyk Mrs. Bogaczyk, 89, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, died March 28 in JFK Haven Hospice, Edison. Prior to her retirement in 1978, she was employed as a cafeteria worker for 22 years at Emma L. Arleth School, Sayreville. Her husband, John M. Bogaczyk, died in 2003. Surviving are four children, John M. Bogaczyk of Annapolis, Md., James Bogaczyk of Manahawkin, Carol Junkierski of Monroe and Mary Paulette of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a sister, Rose Clark of South Amboy; a brother, Raymond Jaskowiak of Sayreville; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and her caregiver, Anna. A Mass was offered at Sacred Heart Church, South Amboy. Interment was in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Parlin. Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Church, 224 N. Eugene "Whitey" Shiber Mr. Shiber, 77, of East Brunswick, died March 25 in Barbara E. Cheung Memorial Hospice, Edison. Prior to his retirement in 1994, he was employed as a mechanic with Permacel Tape Manufacturing, North Brunswick, where he worked for 34 years. Surviving are his wife, Joan Hampton Shiber; four daughters, Linda Cavalier of Sayreville, Cindy Biddle of Englishtown, Darlene Sneden of Upper Montclair and Lori Shiber of Phoenix, Ariz.; a brother, Robert of Portage, Pa.; three sisters, Eileen Shiber, Lucille Whiteford and Laverne Conrad, all of Portage; six grandchildren; and a great-grandson. A service was held at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice or to Barbara E. Cheung Memorial Hospice, 1 Roosevelt Drive, Edison, NJ 08837.
Margaret Marciano Salerno Mrs. Salerno, 84, of Sayreville, died March 25 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. A son, Raymond, died in 1990. Surviving are her husband, Gerald D. Salerno; a son, Daniel Salerno of Sayreville; a daughter, Kathleen Kopp of Ballston Lake, N.Y.; three brothers, Ernest Marciano of New York City, Louis Marciano of Hazlet and Anthony Marciano of Old Bridge; a sister, Sarah Piscitelli of Bloomfield; and two grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Bernadette's Church, Parlin section of Old Bridge. Entombment was in Hollywood Memorial Park Mausoleum, Union.
Edith M. Malmberg Smith Mrs. Smith, of East Brunswick, formerly of Spotswood, died March 22 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Her husband, William Smith, died in 1963. Surviving are a son, Glenn Smith of the Laurence Harbor section of Old Bridge; a daughter, Linda Borsuk of East Brunswick; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Arrangements were under the direction of Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Graveside services were held at Ocean View Cemetery, Staten Island, N.Y. A memorial service was held at Christ Memorial Lutheran Church, East Brunswick. Eleanor Sosnosky Mrs. Sosnosky, 80, of Sayreville, died March 22 at home. During the 1970s and 1980s, she was employed at Sayreville Pizzeria and at Pizza Junction, also Sayreville. She was predeceased by her husband, Benjamin. Surviving are three daughters, Gloria Codamo of Arizona, Kathy Lakomski of Sayreville and Mary Ellen Sicola of Spotswood; a son, Ben of California; a sister, Mary Ann Checko of Pennsylvania; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Interment was in New Calvary Cemetery, Parlin section of Sayreville.
Joan I. Sowienski Bittner Mrs. Bittner, 73, of Old Bridge, died March 27 at home. Prior to her retirement, she was an accounts receivable clerk for the N.J. Turnpike Authority, East Brunswick. Her husband, George, died in 2005. Surviving are three daughters, Nancy Carpentiero of South River, Kristine Meyer of Old Bridge and Janice Felicki of Chesapeake, Va.; two sons, William Bittner of Jackson and John Bittner of Bethlehem, Pa.; a brother, Robert Sowienski of Carteret; 10 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. A Mass was offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
Helen Kreseski Tommy Mrs. Tommy, 68, of East Brunswick, formerly of South River, died March 17 in Briar Wood Care Center, Sayreville. Surviving are her husband, Robert "Dutch" Tommy; four sons, Stanley of Howell, Robert Jr. of Sanford, Fla., Kenneth of Belmar and Richard of Moorestown; two sisters, Rose Razzano of South River and Irene Ploskonka of South Amboy; two grandsons; and four nieces and four nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Interment was in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick. Joseph F. Walter Sr. Mr. Walter, 77, of Monmouth Beach and Port St. Lucie, Fla., died March 30 in Port St. Lucie. He owned and operated Morgan Marina, Sayreville, for the past 46 years, and Keypunch Relief, a data processing company. Surviving are his wife, Mary; two sons, Joseph Walter Jr. of the Parlin section of Sayreville and Michael Walter of the Morgan section of Sayreville; two daughters, Kathleen Schultz of Parlin and Mary Pat Salinas of Bordentown; a brother, Edward Walter of Montvale; and eight grandchildren. A Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated at the Church of the Precious Blood, Monmouth Beach. Entombment was in Woodbine Cemetery Mausoleum, Oceanport. Elizabeth Barbara Horvath Fallon Mrs. Fallon, 71, of Sayreville, died March 27 in Jersey Shore Care Center, Eatontown. Her husband, Edward P. Fallon Sr., died in 1994. Surviving are three sons, Edward P. Fallon Jr. of Farmingdale, Glenn Fallon of South Amboy and Gregory Fallon of Howell; four brothers, Joseph Horvath of Monmouth Beach, Louis and William Horvath, both of Staten Island, N.Y., and Robert of Las Vegas, Nev.; two sisters, Magda Jensen of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Mary Storer of Staten Island; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Arrangements were under the direction of Maliszewski Memorial Home, Sayreville. Interment was in New Calvary Cemetery, Parlin section of Sayreville.
