Community Bulletin Board The Immaculate Conception Fathers Club will host its annual Breakfast With the Easter Bunny from 9 a.m. to noon on April 2 in the Immaculate Conception School cafeteria, 23 Manalapan Road, Spotswood. A buffet breakfast will be served. Activities will include arts and crafts, photos with the Easter Bunny and two Easter-egg hunts. An egg hunt for children ages 4 and younger is set for 10:15 a.m. Youngsters ages 5 and above are invited to take part in a hunt scheduled for 10:45 a.m. Cost is $10 per adult, $6 per child ages 5-10, $2.50 for ages 2-4; children under age 2 will be admitted free of charge. Girl Scouts to host Sports Spectacular Girl Scout Troop No. 1856, South River, will present a Silver Sports Spectacular from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on March 25 in the gymnasium at South River Middle School, Montgomery Street. All girls ages 6-11 are invited. Participants need not live in South River nor be a Girl Scout to attend. Workshops will include a hands-on introduction to basketball, softball, hockey, cheerleading and volleyball. Other sessions will explore sports safety, first aid and nutrition. Vendors sought for Craft Show, Food Sale Vendors are sought for the annual First Presbyterian Church of South Amboy Spring Craft Show and Food Sale set for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 13 in the church basement, 150 N. Broadway, South Amboy. Indoor table rental costs $20. Fee is $15 for a space outside the church; outside vendors should bring their own table. Reservation deadline is April 22. Daisy Recreation The 23rd annual Ralph Lamo Memorial Breakfast, to aid the children of Camp Daisy, East Brunswick, will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 9 at the East Brunswick Hilton, Route 18, East Brunswick. Proceeds will benefit individuals with disabilities who participate in the Daisy Recreation Program, sponsored and facilitated by the East Brunswick Division of Recreation and Community Services and the Daisy Association. The program is designed to promote the concept of education through recreation for the developmentally challenged. Volunteers plan, prepare and serve the breakfast and clean up after the event. The breakfast menu will include eggs, bacon, ham, home fries, pancakes, doughnuts, rolls, juice, coffee, tea and milk. Tickets cost $10 for adults, $2 for children under age 10, and are available at the East Brunswick Recreation Office, Dunhams Corner Road; the township clerk's office in the East Brunswick Municipal Building, Jean Walling Civic Center; or at the door. Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1451 will hold a Feast of Fools Ball at 8 p.m. on April 1 at the post home, 31 Reid St., South River. The event will feature three bands - the Legion Brothers, Fillmore Daze and Wanna Bees. Admission is $10. All ages are invited. There will be a cash bar; proper identification is required. A portion of the proceeds go to help support the VFW National Home for Children. Senior Chai to feature luncheon, songs, comedy The next meeting of Senior Chai, a program of Jewish Family Service (JFS) of Southern Middlesex County, will be held from 1-2:30 p.m. on April 5 at the Jewish Congregation of Concordia, Monroe. Athletic association sets Spaghetti Dinner The Immaculate Conception Athletic Association will host a Spaghetti Dinner from 6-8 p.m. on March 24 in the Immaculate Conception School cafeteria, 23 Manalapan Road, Spotswood. Dinner will feature pasta with homemade marinara sauce, homemade vodka sauce or butter sauce; bread and butter; salad; homemade desserts; and soda and water. Jim Matera will make the sauces. Cost is $8 for adults, $5 for seniors and children age 12 and under. Egg hunt, hat contest scheduled for April 1 The Monroe Township Recreation Department and the Monroe Township Mother's Club will hold their annual Egg Hunt and Bonnet/Top Hat Contest beginning at noon on April 1, rain or shine, at the Monroe Township Community Center Skating Rink, Monmouth Road. Youngsters should bring a basket or bag to collect goodies. Participants will be divided into the following age divisions for the egg hunt: newborn to 3 years; prekindergarten (4 years old); kindergarten; first and second grades; third and fourth grades; fifth grade and up. Parents will be allowed on the rink for the newborn-age 3 division only. First- and second-place prize baskets will be awarded for funniest hat, most original hat and best-looking hat.
