Obituaries Earl H. Christ Mr. Christ, of Monroe, formerly of Milltown and Clearwater, Fla., died Sept. 27 at home. A schoolteacher and administrator, he retired in 1978 as a principal with the Burlington elementary school system. He was the previous owner of the Jane Logan Shop, Milltown, and served on the Milltown Board of Education. Surviving are his wife, Gladys Kuhlthau Christ; two sons, Scott Christ of the Somerset section of Franklin and Gary Christ of Edison; a daughter, Gail Piccirillo of Monroe; a sister, Irma Herbert Newman of San Juan Capistrano, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The family will welcome friends and family at the Rossmoor Clubhouse, Monroe, from 3-7 p.m. on Oct. 9. Joseph Baranek Jr. Mr. Baranek, 63, of East Brunswick, died Sept. 25 at home. He was employed as a maintenance technician with Schweitzer Mauduit, Spotswood. His wife, Elaine Sheehan Baranek, died in 2000. Surviving are two sons, Jeffrey Baranek and Ian Baranek, both of East Brunswick; and a sister, Janet Wilson of Monroe. Services were held at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Interment was in Forest Green Memorial Park Cemetery, Morganville section of Marlboro.
John J. Butler Mr. Butler, 95, of Monroe, died Sept. 26 at home. He was a retired accountant. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Lundy Butler; a daughter, Maureen Gerien of Monroe; and two grandchildren, Kristin and Michael Gerien. Arrangements were under the direction of Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Interment was in St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, N.Y.
Sylvia M. Degutz Mrs. Degutz, 87, of East Brunswick, formerly of Sunrise, Fla., died Sept. 26 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are her husband, Samuel Degutz; three children, Iris Degutz of Brooklyn, N.Y., Susan Degutz of Staten Island, N.Y., and Alan Degutz and his wife, Audrey, of East Brunswick; and two granddaughters, Danielle and Rachel. Services were held at Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick. Interment was in Cedar Park Cemetery, Emerson.
Genevieve Mischihowski Kornacki Mrs. Kornacki, 85, formerly of South River, died Sept. 28 in Sunrise Assisted Living, East Brunswick. Her husband, Frank Kornacki, died in 1997. Surviving are two sons, David Kornacki of Springhill, Fla., and Lawrence Kornacki of Deltona, Fla.; a sister, Josephine Waxmundsky of South River; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. A memorial Mass was offered at St. Mary of Ostrabrama Church, South River. Interment of cremated remains took place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Brunswick.
Mary M. MacNeely Mrs. MacNeely, 79, of Freehold, formerly of Milltown, died Sept. 24 at home. Surviving are a daughter, Carol Lynne Kozlowski of Freehold Township; three sisters, Helen Bingaman and Shirley Erdman, both of Lykens, Pa., and Ellen Bryan of Hegins, Pa.; and two granddaughters, Brianne and Katelynn Kozlowski, both of Freehold Township. Funeral services were held at the Reformed Church of Freehold. Arrangements were under the direction of Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Fishkin Brothers, Perth Amboy, where he worked for 30 years. Surviving are his wife, Jean Jasinski Wasylyk; three sons, Dean Wasylyk of Edison, Donald Wasylyk of East Brunswick and Gary Wasylyk of South Brunswick; and two grandchildren. Private services were under the direction of Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick.
Dorothy Tuccillo Anderson Mrs. Anderson, 73, of Providence, R.I., formerly of East Brunswick, died Sept. 29 in Rhode Island. Her husband, Ralph Anderson, died in 2004. Surviving are her mother, Angela Tuccillo of Colts Neck; two sons, Ralph Anderson of Colts Neck and Gregory Anderson of Richmond, R.I.; and four grandchildren, Brad, Brian, Anthony and Caterina. A Mass was offered at St. Bartholomew’s Church, East Brunswick. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
Louis E. Sitzler Mr. Sitzler, 67, of East Brunswick, died Sept. 30 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to his retirement in 2003, he was employed as a dispatcher with Suburban Transit/Coach USA, New Brunswick, where he worked for 42 years. Surviving are his wife, Patricia Condo Sitzler; two sons, Louis Sitzler of East Brunswick and William Morgan of Helmetta; two daughters, Lisa Grande and Pamela Walters, both of East Brunswick; a sister, Barbara Senanefes of Salem, Ohio; five grandchildren; and a nephew. Mary Lockwood Mrs. Lockwood, 78, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, died Sept. 25 at home. She owned and operated the family business, Lockwood Boat Works Inc., South Amboy, with her husband, William. Surviving are her husband; 10 children, Cathy Wisneski, Michael, Bill, Pat Rose, Mary Ann Langan, Janet O’Connor, Robert, Judy Speicher, Ellen Harrigan and Theresa; a brother, Eugene Armstrong; and 25 grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy. Interment was in the church cemetery. Rosemary A. Shallis Franey Mrs. Franey, 77, of Sayreville, died Sept. 26 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy division. Prior to her retirement in 1989, she was employed as a bookkeeper by Pfizer Corp., Quigley Division, Old Bridge, where she worked for 15 years. Her husband, William J. Franey, died in 1989. Surviving are a son, William T. Franey of Spotswood; two daughters, Mary Beth Wisniewski and Margaret Nemeth, both of Sayreville; a nephew, William Russell of Sayreville; a brother, Francis Shallis of Colts Neck; a sister, Marie Shallis of Sayreville; seven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Bernadette’s Church, Parlin section of Old Bridge. Interment was in St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Sea Girt. Sophie Siarniak Zonkowski Mrs. Zonkowski, 87, formerly of Sayreville, died Sept. 26 in Lutheran Home, Moorestown. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a film inspector with E.I. DuPont Photo Products Division, Parlin section of Sayreville. Before that, she was a seamstress at Kozak Coat Co., South River. Her husband, John, died in 1952. Surviving are two daughters, Barbara Beyer of Southampton and Phyllis Palfy of North Brunswick; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Sayreville. Interment was in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the local chapter of the American Diabetes Association.
Anne Louise Ilnicki Schroeder Mrs. Schroeder, 85, of Milltown, died Sept. 27 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to her retirement in 1993, she was employed as a receptionist for Charles A. Lynn, D.D.S., Milltown, where she worked for 20 years. Before that, she was a lab technician with Johnson and Johnson Corp., Personal Products Division, Milltown. Her husband, Gilbert Raymond Schroeder, died in 2001. Surviving are two sons, Dr. William G. Schroeder of Hillsborough and Robert Schroeder of Helmetta; a brother, Dr. Charles A. Lynn of Milltown; a sister-in-law, Marlene Lynn of New Brunswick; three grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Services were held at Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick. Interment is planned for Oct. 15 in Evergreen Cemetery, Rutland, Vt. Memorial contributions may be made to the Milltown Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 308, Milltown, NJ 08850.
Willard N. Clark Mr. Clark, 77, of Old Bridge, died Sept. 24 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to his retirement earlier this year, he was employed for 10 years as an executive director with Photo Imaging Manufacturers and Distributors Association, Old Bridge. His wife, Olga, died in 2004. Surviving are two sons, Bruce of Pennington and Paul of Ashland, Ore.; and two grandchildren, Fiona and Emmeline. Services were held at Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, Old Bridge. Cremation was private.
Kenneth L. Diehl Mr. Diehl, 72, of the Laurence Harbor section of Old Bridge, died Sept. 30 in Madison Center, Old Bridge. He was a maintenance mechanic at Russell-Stanley, Woodbridge, for 35 years, retiring in 1998. He was predeceased by a daughter, Arlene Sabine, in 2000. Surviving are his wife, Lorraine Seik Diehl; a daughter, Carol Quiroga of Freehold; a son, Michael Diehl of Matawan; a sister, Phyllis Taylor of Shamokin, Pa.; and two grandchildren. Interment was in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arnytown section of North Hanover. Arrangements were under the direction of Day Funeral Home, Keyport.
William J. Foulkrod Mr. Foulkrod, 70, of Hazlet, died Sept. 15 in Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Surviving are his wife, Jacqueline Ross Foulkrod; two daughters, Deborah L. Hoban of Old Bridge and Joanne P. Zeller of the Belford section of Middletown; two sons, Frederick J. Foulkrod of Honesdale, Pa., and Andrew J. Foulkrod of Salado, Texas; a sister, Eleanor Dauplaise of Phoenix, Ariz.; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Mary’s Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. Interment was in Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.
