Anthony R. Demeter

Mr. Demeter, 67, of Spotswood, formerly of South River and East Brunswick, died Aug. 18 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. He retired from Permacel, North Brunswick, in 2003, after more than 33 years with the company. Surviving are his wife, Loretta Balint Demeter; a daughter, Diane Brown, and her husband, Charles, of Bainbridge, N.Y.; and a grandson, Zachary Tyler Brown. Services were under the direction of Eckman Funeral Home, Spotswood. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.

Eleanor T. Clayton

Mrs. Clayton, 81, of East Brunswick, died Aug. 20 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Her husband, Maynard Clayton, died in 2002. Surviving are a son, Frank Haller of Princeton; a daughter, Robin Gasperini of East Brunswick; a sister, Faith Imhoff of Clifton; and a grandson, Christopher Gasperini. A memorial service was held at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick.

Dorothy E. Davison

Mrs. Davison, 84, of Monroe, died Aug. 25 at home. Her husband, Albert E. Davison, died in 2000. Surviving are two daughters, June Davison of East Brunswick and Joyce E. Kerns, at home; a son, Ronald, at home; a brother, Norman P. Crawford of Flemington; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Services were held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, East Brunswick. Entombment was in Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick.

Laszlo Erdosi

Mr. Erdosi, 81, of Monroe, formerly of South River and East Brunswick, died Aug. 23 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to his retirement in 1988, he was employed as a machinist at Personal Products Co., Milltown, where he worked for 20 years. Surviving are his wife, Margaret Taborosi Erdosi; a son, Ernie Erdosi of Milltown; a daughter, Valeria Erdosi Mehaffey of South Plainfield; and two grandsons. Arrangements were under the direction of Crabiel Home for Funerals, Milltown. A memorial service and celebration of Mr. Erdosi’s life was held at the Hungarian American Foundation, New Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hungarian American Foundation, 300 Somerset St., New Brunswick, NJ 08903-1084.

Alexander J. Fabian

Mr. Fabian, 82, of North Brunswick, formerly of Milltown, died Aug. 20 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was a registered pharmacist for the Milltown Pharmacy for more than 35 years, retiring six years ago. He was predeceased by his wife, Coralee Lins Fabian, in 2001. Surviving are several nieces and nephews, and his companion, Claire Christie of Milltown. Services were held at the Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick. Interment was in Van Liew Cemetery, also North Brunswick. Memorial donations may be made to United Methodist Church of Milltown, North Main and East Church streets, Milltown, NJ 08850.

Antonio Lopes

Mr. Lopes, 67, of Spotswood, died Aug. 22 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy division. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a chef for many years in several restaurants and institutions. Surviving are his wife, Stella DiMascio Lopes; four sons, Antonio, Ronald, Douglas and John Lopes; a daughter, Rosemarie Lopes; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at Immaculate Conception Church, Spotswood. Cremation was private. Memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Church, 18 South St., Spotswood, NJ 08884.

Robert Raczynski

Mr. Raczynski, 47, of Spotswood, died Aug. 24 at home. Surviving are his wife, Joanne Hoffner Raczynski; a daughter, Gina Marie Devlin; a brother, James; two sisters, Linda and Patricia; and a granddaughter, Megan Ann Devlin. Services were held in the chapel at Frost Woods Memorial Park, East Brunswick. Entombment followed. Arrangements were under the direction of Eckman Funeral Home, Spotswood.

Johanna Scire

Mrs. Scire, 83, of the Whiting section of Manchester, formerly of Spotswood, died Aug. 19 at home. Surviving are her husband, Vincent; two sons, Jack of East Windsor and Victor of Cranbury; and two grandchildren, Victoria and Jason, both of Cranbury. Services were under the direction of A.S. Cole and Son Funeral Home, Cranbury. Interment was in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arnytown section of North Hanover. Edwin J. Beck III

Mr. Beck, 33, of Belmar, formerly of the Parlin section of Sayreville, died Aug. 24 at home. He was a disc jockey with The Breeze radio station, 107.1-FM, Neptune. Surviving are his parents, Theresa and Thomas Amelio of Parlin; a brother, Steven of Sayreville; a sister, Jennifer O’Leary of East Brunswick; two grandmothers, Theresa Tibus of Old Bridge and Grace Amelio of Staten Island, N.Y.; and two nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Interment was in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick. Douglas J. Boyle

Mr. Boyle, 54, of Union Beach, formerly of Old Bridge, died Aug. 22 in Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. He was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Middletown. He was predeceased by his father, Warren Boyle. Surviving are his wife, Christine Zyjewski Boyle; his mother, Harriet Boyle of Old Bridge; a stepson, Christopher Poyner of Union Beach; a brother, Wally Boyle of East Brunswick; two nieces; a nephew; and two grandchildren. Day Funeral Home, Keyport, was in charge of arrangements.

Mary E. Pfeiffer Blair

Mrs. Blair, 71, of Brick, formerly of Spotswood and Old Bridge, died Aug. 24 in Reformed Church Home, Old Bridge. Her husband, Capt. Roger Blair of the Old Bridge Police Department, died in 1983. Surviving are two sons, James and Roger W., both of Old Bridge; two daughters, Sereida Kopitskie of Old Bridge and Lila E. Schabacker of Island Heights; two brothers, Cornelius James Pfeiffer of Greenville, N.C., and John J. Pfeiffer of Spotswood; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and four nieces and one nephew. A Mass was offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.

Edward J. Murray

Mr. Murray, 71, of East Brunswick, died Aug. 24 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. A son, Edward Jr., died in 1984. Surviving are his wife, Florence Coff Murray; a son, James of East Brunswick; five daughters, Jo-Ann Janicki of Old Bridge, Linda Capasso and Diane Thomore, both of Jackson, Doreen Amendolare of Hillsborough and Stacy Ansalone of East Brunswick; a brother, Thomas of Vernon; a sister, Sally Williamson of Norwood; and 13 grandchildren. A Mass was offered Corpus Christi Church, South River. Interment was in Washington Monumental Cemetery, also South River.

William J. Johnstone

Mr. Johnstone, 89, of Milltown, died Aug. 26 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to his retirement several years ago, he was a tool and dye maker at Okanite Cable, North Brunswick. A past president of the Milltown Democratic Social Club and Milltown Senior Citizens, he worked on the Board of Elections in Milltown, the Milltown Board of Health Committee and the Middlesex County Housing and Community Development Committee. His wife, Mary, died in 2001. Surviving are two sons, William M. of New York City and John L. of South Brunswick; and many nieces and nephews. Services were held at Crabiel Home for Funerals, Milltown. Memorial contributions may be made to the Milltown Historical Society, P.O. Box 96, Milltown, NJ 08850.

Walter Donald Barklow

Mr. Barklow, 87, of South Amboy, died Aug. 23 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to his retirement in 1983, he was employed as an electrician with Jersey Central Power and Light Co., South Amboy, where he worked for 41 years. Surviving are his wife, Grace Ceres Barklow; a daughter, Donna Barklow-Kotuski of Sayreville; two grandsons, Robert and Christopher Delude of Sayreville; a nephew; and two cousins. A Mass was offered at St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy. Entombment was in St. Mary’s Mausoleum, also South Amboy.
