Obituaries Ronald Kammerer Mr. Kammerer, 68, of Spotswood, died July 25 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a truck driver with Shaw Industries, Jamesburg. He was predeceased by two sons, Ronald Kammerer, in 2002, and James Kammerer, in 2003. Surviving are his wife, Theresa Gilewski Kammerer; two sons, Thomas Kammerer of Spotswood and David Kammerer of Milltown; a daughter, Susan Holovac of Maine; a brother, Richard Kammerer of Rhode Island; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services were held at Maliszewski Funeral Home, South River.
Charles J. Sincavage Mr. Sincavage, 55, of North Middletown, died July 25 in Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles F. and Mary Rose Adamchak Sincavage. Surviving are two sisters, his twin, Charlye Macaro of Milltown, and Patricia Jelinski of the Cliffwood Beach section of Old Bridge; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Hedwig’s Church, Elizabeth. Interment was in St. Gertrude’s Cemetery, Colonia section of Woodbridge. Arrangements were under the direction of Werson Funeral Home, Linden.
Joanne J. Amato Mrs. Amato, 54, of East Brunswick, died July 28 at home. She was a registered nurse-care coordinator at Reproductive Medicine Associates of New Jersey, Somerset section of Franklin. Prior to that, she was employed in neonatal intensive care at St. Peter’s University Medical Center, New Brunswick, and later worked in reproductive endocrinology as a registered nurse-care coordinator at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, New Brunswick. She was awarded the New Jersey Infertility Association’s 2000 Star of Resolve Award. Surviving are her husband, Anthony P. Amato; two children, Adrienne McDonald of Cranbury and Timothy A. of East Brunswick; her parents, Anna and Joseph Ladny of East Brunswick; and a brother, Kenneth of Plano, Texas. A Mass was offered at St. Bartholomew’s Church, East Brunswick. Entombment was in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Edith Butler Herbert Mrs. Herbert, 84, of Monroe, formerly of Milltown, died Aug. 2 in Monroe Village. She worked for many years in her family businesses, Herbert Sand Co., and Edgeboro Disposal Co., both East Brunswick. She was active in Milltown political campaigns throughout her life. Surviving are her husband, Harold L. Herbert; two sons, Harold D. Herbert of Point Pleasant and Bill Herbert of the Skillman section of Montgomery; a daughter, Joan Whitman of Milltown; eight grandchildren, Harold D. Herbert II, Sharon Lynn Herbert, Kelly Herbert, Will Hebert, Sandra Holick, Debra McGrath, Jack Whitman and Scott Whitman; and six great-grandchildren. Services were held at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Milltown. Interment was in Franklin Memorial Park Cemetery, North Brunswick. Ethel Feinberg Minkin Mrs. Minkin, 81, of East Brunswick, died Aug. 2 in Rose Mountain Care Center, New Brunswick. A job counselor with the New Jersey Department of Labor for approximately 20 years prior to retiring in 1987, she also was a substitute teacher for the East Brunswick and South Brunswick school systems. She was a former chairwoman of the Citizens Committee for Better Schools, East Brunswick, and director of the East Brunswick Township Education Committee. Surviving are her husband, Morris B. Minkin; two daughters, Dr. Mary Jane Minkin of Guilford, Conn., and Randy Rubinstein of Hazlet; and five grandchildren. A funeral service was held at Frostwood Memorial Park Mausoleum, East Brunswick. Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, New Brunswick, was in charge of arrangements.
Frances E. Morrow Schulz Mrs. Schulz, 84, of Spotswood, formerly of Sayreville and Milltown, died July 31 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Her husband, Nicholas E. Schulz, died in 1991. Surviving are two daughters, Diane Costigan of Warren, Mich., and Carol Gumpper of East Brunswick; four brothers, Fred Morrow of East Brunswick, Richard Morrow of the Columbus section of Mansfield, Edward Morrow of Lakehurst and William Morrow of Old Bridge; five sisters, Dorothy Gombas of North Brunswick, Jean Borweigan of East Brunswick, Laverne Mazor of South River, Phyllis Mertz of Plainsboro and Madeline Swing of Lexington, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson. A Mass was offered at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Milltown. Interment was in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arnytown section of North Hanover.
Rita Witkowski Krause Mrs. Krause, 79, of Milltown, died July 30 at home. Prior to her retirement, she worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad freight station, Helmetta; the Helmetta snuff mill; and E.J. Korvette, North Brunswick. Surviving are her husband, Earl Krause Jr.; a son, Earl M. of East Brunswick; a daughter, Cheryl Franklin of the Leonardo section of Middletown; a granddaughter; and a great-granddaughter. A Mass was offered at St. Bartholomew’s Church, East Brunswick. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, East Brunswick. Ruth Emma Eiler Rogan Mrs. Rogan, 88, of Naples, Fla., formerly of East Brunswick, died July 25 in Naples. Her husband, Russell Rogan, died in 1998. Surviving are two sons, John Rogan of Naples and Bruce Rogan of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; a daughter, Ruth Samuelson of Naples; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Services were held at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Interment was in Washington Monumental Cemetery, South Brunswick.
Pedro P. Towns Mr. Towns, 83, of East Brunswick, died July 31 at home. Prior to his retirement in 1990, he was an engineer with Rutgers University, New Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Rafaela “Mimi”; five daughters, Maria Delia Gonzales of San Antonio, Texas, Annie Towns of Middleboro, Mass., Dr. Luz Miranda of New York, Jacqueline Bilotta and Jennifer Hluchy, both of Monroe; two sons, Peter Towns III and James W. Towns, both of East Brunswick; two sisters, Irma Springer and Mary Caballero, both of San Antonio; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Joseph S. Wilk Mr. Wilk, 81, of South River, died July 31 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to his retirement in 1990, he was employed for 35 years with Johnson and Johnson, New Brunswick. He was predeceased by a son-in-law, John Connolly. Surviving are his wife, Mary Szlachtowicz Wilk; a daughter, Cynthia Wilk Connolly of the Lawrenceville section of Lawrence; a son, Stephen Wilk of Saugus, Mass.; and a granddaughter. A Mass was offered at St. Mary of Ostrabrama Church, South River. Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Brunswick. Sophie Yanowsky Suskevich Mrs. Suskevich, 88, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, formerly of South River, died July 28 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy division. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Suskevich. Surviving are two daughters, Zena Horvath of the Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick and Elizabeth McCluskey of Greenville, S.C.; two brothers, John Alexander of Long Beach Island and Nicholas Yanowsky of Springfield, Va.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A service was held at Sts. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church, South River. Interment was in the church cemetery.
