Michael P. Guiliano

Mr. Guiliano, 67, of Upper Freehold Township, died July 8 at his home. Born in Perth Amboy, he had lived in North Brunswick before moving to Upper Freehold Township 10 months ago. He was a graduate of Perth Amboy High School. Mr. Guiliano was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a self-employed commercial photographer and had worked as a staff photographer for Greater Media Newspapers for 25 years. He enjoyed model trains and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Sharon L. Costanzo Guiliano; two sons, Joseph M. Guiliano and his wife, Peggy, of Manalapan, and Bradley M. Guiliano and his friend, Ellen Gagnon, of South River; a daughter, Lauren Guiliano and her fiancé, Finbarr Brady, of Bordentown; a brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Philip and Susan Guiliano of Medford; a sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Carl Kurtiak of Kentucky, and four grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. John’s Roman Catholic Church, Allentown, followed by interment at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arnytown, Burlington County. Arrangements were under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 2550 Route 1, North Brunswick 08902.

Diane F. Rifkin Gilbert

Mrs. Gilbert, 69, of East Brunswick, formerly of Monroe, died July 5 in Care One, East Brunswick. Prior to her retirement, she was a bookkeeper for Barry Weisman Associates, East Brunswick, where she worked for six years. Her husband, Elliott, died in 2000. Surviving are a son, Martin Gilbert of East Brunswick; two daughters, Sheila Sachs of East Brunswick and Nicole Nardizzi of Hoboken; a brother, Peter Rifkin of East Brunswick; a sister, Naomi Sagiv of Chester, N.Y.; and six grandchildren. Services were held at Temple B’nai Shalom, East Brunswick. Interment was in New Montefiore Cemetery, Farmingdale, N.Y. Memorial contributions may be made to Temple B’nai Shalom, P.O. Beate F. Perkuhn

Mrs. Perkuhn, 64, of East Brunswick, formerly of Spotswood, died July 10 at home. She was employed for the past 25 years as a school bus driver for children with special needs in South Brunswick. She also worked as a transportation coordinator in North Brunswick. Surviving are her husband, Ernst Perkuhn; two sons, Peter of West Windsor and Udo of Edison; and a sister, Edith Koerner of Union. A memorial Mass was offered at Our Lady of Peace Church, North Brunswick.

Alice Heil

Mrs. Heil, 81, of Suwanee, Ga., formerly of Spotswood, died July 11 at home. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the borough of Spotswood as secretary to the mayor. She also served as secretary to the Spotswood business administrator, secretary to the borough clerk and secretary to the library board of trustees. She was predeceased by her husband, Lewis Heil. Surviving are a daughter, Annette Delvalle of Suwannee, with whom she lived; a son, Craig Heil of Manalapan; two sisters, Joan Lauria and Helen Unger; three grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be private. A “celebration of life” luncheon will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 1 at People’s Italian Restaurant, 11 Tennent Ave., Englishtown. Ann R. Thompson

Mrs. Thompson, 69, of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Milltown, died June 17. Surviving are her husband, Fred M. Thompson; three children, Fred J. Thompson Jr., Sandra Mahon and Nancy Flanagan; two brothers, Stephen Novack and Jack Novack; a sister, Betty Cowdell; and seven grandchildren. A memorial service was held at Meldrum Mortuary, Mesa.

George C. Baureko Sr.

Mr. Baureko, 77, of Helmetta, formerly of East Brunswick, died July 4 at home. Prior to his retirement in 1985, he was an electrician with American Smelting and Refining Co., Perth Amboy. Surviving are two sons, George C. Jr. of Spotswood and Kevin J. of Jackson; two daughters, Dione M. Longuillo of Monroe and Renee A. Baureko of Tannersville, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at Holy Trinity Church, Helmetta. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Richard Stanley

Mr. Stanley, 74, of Monroe, died July 7 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. His wife, Elsie Stanley, died in 1994. Surviving are a son, William Stanley of Monroe; two daughters, Beth Emburgia of Monroe and Ruth Harrison of Jackson; a brother, Neil Stanley of Freehold; and two sisters, Pauline Verbel and Janet Saliski. Services were held at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Interment was in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick.

Margaret Kafarski West

Mrs. West, 55, of Helmetta, formerly of East Brunswick, died July 6 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was predeceased by her parents, Marie and William Kafarski. Surviving are a son, Roger West of Old Bridge; a daughter, Valerie West of Helmetta; two brothers, John Kafarski of Sarasota, Fla., and Kenneth Kafarski of Brick; a sister, Eileen Becker of Spotswood; and three grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.

Lisa Bruno Murphy

Mrs. Murphy, 43, of Old Bridge, died July 1 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Her mother, Elaine Bruno, died in 1999. Surviving are her father, Gerald Bruno of Old Bridge; two daughters, Jewelle Weston of Old Bridge and Jacqueline Murphy of Florida; a brother, Gerald Bruno Jr. of Manalapan; and a sister, Laura Brown of Spotswood. Services were held at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Interment was in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick.

Sherri E. Pauciello

Ms. Pauciello, 49, of the Cliffwood Beach section of Old Bridge, formerly of East Brunswick, died July 8 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was employed in shipping and receiving at Staples Warehouse, Monroe, for the past seven years. Surviving are a daughter, Kristy M. Barr of East Brunswick; a brother, Samuel J. Pauciello of Pennsylvania; a sister, Margaret M. Pauciello of East Brunswick; and two grandchildren. Entombment was in Frost Woods Cemetery, East Brunswick. Leon Pogreszewski

Mr. Pogreszewski, 90, of Sayreville, died July 7 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Prior to his retirement in 1977, he was employed as a chemical operator with Hercules Inc., Parlin section of Sayreville, where he worked for 39 years. He was predeceased by his wife, Jane Swiderski Pogreszewski, and by a son, Alan. Surviving are a brother, Robert Pogreszewski of East Brunswick; a sister, Eleanor Chasan of Lake Tahoe, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Mary of Ostrabrama Church, South River. Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Brunswick. Theresa A. Wistuba Robinson

Mrs. Robinson, 84, of Sayreville, died July 5 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to her retirement, she was employed at Sayre Electronics, Sayreville, and South River Metal Fabricators. She also conducted preschool story hours for the Sayreville Recreation Department. Her husband, James H. Robinson, died in 1991. Surviving are a son, James Jr., and a daughter, Maureen Cypra, both of Sayreville; a sister, Rose Mamrak of Mississippi; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Entombment was in St. Mary’s Mausoleum, South Amboy.

Carol A. Bowes

Mrs. Bowes, 68, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, died July 3 in Community Memorial Hospital, Toms River section of Dover. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Bowes. Surviving are two daughters, Debi Frew of Gilbert, Ariz., and Marjie Neilson of Pleasanton, Calif.; a son, Tom Bowes of Sayreville; a stepsister, Dee Meyers of New Mexico; and four grandchildren. Services were under the direction of Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, Parlin. Thomas E. Gilligan

Mr. Gilligan, 79, of Sayreville, died July 9 at home. A daughter, Gail Ann Watts, died in 1988, and a son, Victor Gilligan, died in 1998. Surviving are his wife, Ann Ruiz Gilligan; four daughters, Christine Carthy, Maura Vince, Teresa Gilligan and Ruth Gilligan, all of Sayreville; a son, Michael Gilligan of Bergenfield; and 14 grandchildren. A Mass was offered at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Entombment was in Woodbridge Memorial Gardens.

William E. “Sonny” Gottschalk

Mr. Gottschalk, 75, of Aberdeen, formerly of the Laurence Harbor section of Old Bridge and Barnegat, died July 9 at home. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service, New York City, for 25 years, retiring in 1992. Surviving are a sister, Marion Barfield of Aberdeen; a niece; two nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Arrangements were under the direction of Gundrum Service Home for Funerals, South Amboy.

Rose Leonard Gowrie

Mrs. Gowrie, 88, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, died July 8 in Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Surviving are three daughters, Rosanne Mentro of Florida, and Sandy Cleary and Patricia Attanasio, both of Parlin; four sons, Edward of New York City, Donald of Norwalk, Conn., William of Westport, Conn., and Timothy of Tolland, Conn.; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Interment was in New Calvary Cemetery, Parlin.

Lawrence F. Strugala

Mr. Strugala, 84, of Sayreville, died July 10 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Prior to his retirement in 1983, he was employed as a lab technician with Hercules Inc., Parlin section of Sayreville, where he worked for 30 years. Surviving are his wife, Josephine Dombrowski Strugala; two daughters, Patricia O’Such of the Seaville section of Upper Township and JoAnn Strugala of the Dayton section of South Brunswick; two sons, Richard Strugala of the Kingston section of South Brunswick and Gerard Strugala of Jackson; a brother, Louis Strugala of Sayreville; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services are planned for 11 a.m. on July 14 at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Sayreville. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
