Leona H. Klemick Gatlin

Mrs. Gatlin, 69, of Milltown, died May 5 in King Manor Care Center, Neptune. Her husband, John W. Gatlin, died in 1998. Surviving are three daughters, Brenda Boud of Neptune, Carol Hanlon of Hopatcong and Joanne Gatlin of Long Beach, Calif.; two sons, John W. Gatlin Jr. of The Woodlands, Texas, and Mark Gatlin of Denver; three sisters, Elizabeth Caunt and Mary Cicalo of Edison, and Esther Tererri of Plainfield; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A Mass was offered at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Milltown. Interment was in Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick.

Dorothy J. Francis Schrader

Mrs. Schrader, 84, of East Brunswick, died May 3 in Buckingham Place, South Brunswick. Her husband, Horace, died in 1977. Surviving are three children, Carol Hover of Pine City, N.Y., Dr. John Schrader of North Andover, Mass., and Linda Romatowski of South Brunswick; a brother, George Francis of Philadelphia; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services were held at Nativity Evangelical Lutheran Church, East Brunswick. Interment was in Washington Monumental Cemetery, South River. Gertrude Evans Percival

Mrs. Percival, 86, of Monroe, formerly of East Brunswick, died May 5 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Her husband, John, died in 1990. Surviving are two daughters, Dorothy Burke of Monroe and Janet Gillespie of Rumson; a son, John of Hackettstown; a sister, Ellen Brosh of Freehold; six grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters. Services were held at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Cremation was private.

Blanche R. Levitt Weiss

Mrs. Weiss, 84, of Monroe, formerly of East Brunswick, died May 8 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Her husband, Saul, died in 2000, and a son-in-law, Fred Valentino, died in 1988. Surviving are two daughters, Florence Ackerman and Arlene Valentino, both of East Brunswick; a sister, Janet Levine of Monroe; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three nephews and three nieces. Services were held at Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick. Interment was in Beth Abraham Cemetery, East Brunswick. Philip P. Caccavale

Mr. Caccavale, 66, of East Brunswick, died May 3 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to his retirement in 2002, he was an administrator with the East Brunswick school district for 28 years. He was a member of the Principals and Supervisors Association, where he held various positions, including vice president and grievance chairman. Surviving are his wife, Judith Lansdowne Caccavale; a daughter, Amy Bronwyn Caccavale, at home; his parents, Charles and Ann Lynch Caccavale of North Bergen; and a sister, Karen Faro of North Bergen. A Mass was offered at St. Bartholomew’s Church, East Brunswick. Cremation was private. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. John F. Hershey II

Mr. Hershey, 88, of South River, died May 1 in Barbara E. Cheung Memorial Hospice, Edison. Prior to his retirement in 1979, he was a lab technician with DuPont, Parlin section of Sayreville, where he worked for 41 years. Surviving are his wife, Victoria V. Tomaro Hershey; a son, John Hershey III of Washington, D.C.; a daughter, Patti Hershey of Georgetown, Texas; and a granddaughter, Samantha Hershey. Services were held at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Cremation was private. John E. Borgeson

Mr. Borgeson, 70, of Spotswood, formerly of East Brunswick and South River, died May 6 in Haven Hospice at JFK, Edison. Prior to his retirement in 1999, he was employed by Donald C. Rodner Contractors, South Brunswick. Before that, he worked for Logan Towing, North Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Anna Maria DeLucia Borgeson; a sister, Doris Williams of Texas; his father-in-law, Joseph DeLucia of Sayreville; two sisters-in-law, Carmen Delikat of Sayreville and Dolores “Cookie” DeLucia of North Brunswick; a brother-in-law, Joseph DeLucia of Neptune City; and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements were under the direction of Maliszewski Memorial Home, Sayreville. Joseph Carone Jr.

Mr. Carone, 63, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, died May 4 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy division. He was predeceased by a son, Joseph James Carone, and by his father, Joseph Carone Sr. Surviving are his wife, Patricia Buckley Carone; two daughters, Tara Ann Black of Hamilton and Doreen Carone of North Brunswick; his mother, Elizabeth Galossi Carone of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a sister, Madelaine Schubert of Miami; and two grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy. Interment was in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Sayreville. Kathleen Patricia Ash Whelan

Mrs. Whelan, 59, of East Brunswick, died May 7 in Overlook Hospital, Summit. She was predeceased by her father, Harry Ash. Surviving are her mother, Rita Theresa Ash; three children, Theresa Bogdan of Miami, Michael Bogdan of Milltown and Jeanette Gillen of East Brunswick; four brothers, Harry Ash of Old Bridge, Michael Dennis Ash and Martin Stephen Ash, both of Scranton, Pa., and Joseph A. Ash of Pennsylvania; a sister, Rita B. Williams of Wilkes-Barre, Pa.; her ex-husband, Alex Bogdan; two granddaughters; and 10 nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at Immaculate Conception Church, Spotswood. Entombment was in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, South Brunswick.

Sarah Lupia Gaito

Mrs. Gaito, 81, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, died May 8 at home. Her husband, Anthony, died in 1987. Surviving are two sons, Joseph of Staten Island, N.Y., and Michael of Parlin; three daughters, Camille Nuzzo, Theresa Lewis and Susan Emery, all of Parlin; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A Mass is planned for 9:30 a.m. on May 12 at St. Bernadette’s Church, Parlin section of Old Bridge. Interment will follow in Forest Green Park Cemetery, Morganville section of Marlboro.

Neil Andrade

Mr. Andrade, 73, of Easton, Pa., formerly of Old Bridge, died May 8 in Easton Hospital. A son, Clifford, died in 1987, and a daughter, Ursula, died in 2001. Surviving are his wife, Ursula; five daughters, Petra Ragucci of Lakewood, Michele Samoilis of Fair Lawn, Linda Mecca of Jackson, Gale Herzing of Westwood and Ingrid Andrade of Old Bridge; four brothers, John Romeo, Joseph, Anthony and Alfred; a sister, Cathy Bandinelli; and 12 grandchildren. A Mass is planned for 9 a.m. on May 12 at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Interment will follow in Forest Green Park Cemetery, Morganville section of Marlboro.

Elizabeth A. Kennedy Kudelka

Mrs. Kudelka, 74, of South Amboy, died May 7 at home. Surviving are her husband, Joseph S. Kudelka; two sons, Daniel Kudelka and Joseph J. Kudelka; three daughters, Elizabeth J. Kudelka, Mary Szatkowski and Denise Morales, all of South Amboy; three brothers, James Kennedy of Ocala, Fla., Robert Kennedy of Lake Ariel, Pa., and Frank Kennedy of South Amboy; two sisters, Helen Kovacs and Patricia Saunders, both of Perth Amboy; and four grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy. Entombment was in Woodbridge Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the South Amboy Rescue Squad.

Elizabeth Gertrude Raab Condo

Mrs. Condo, 87, of Old Bridge, died May 5 at home. Her husband, Peter Condo, died in 1986. Surviving are two daughters, Elizabeth Fedorczyk of Sneads Ferry, N.C., and Ruth Ann Newton of Sayreville; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Services were held at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Interment was in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, also East Brunswick. Edmund W. Slomkowski

Mr. Slomkowski, 81, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, died May 6 in JFK Medical Center, Edison. Surviving are his wife, Rozalia Murga Slomkowski; two daughters, Krystyna Slomkowski of Parlin and Barbara DePaul of Sayreville; a brother, John Slomkowski of Long Island, N.Y.; and two grandchildren, Alycia and Jonathan. A Mass was offered at Sacred Heart Church, South Amboy. Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Saddle Brook.
