Feb. 18

• Soup Buffet, sponsored by the Women of Simpson United Methodist Church, 5-7 p.m., at the church, 2095 Route 516, Old Bridge. Homemade soups, tossed salad, rolls, beverages, desserts. • Tricky tray, sponsored by Bowne-Munro School, East Brunswick, doors open at 6 p.m., calling begins at 8 p.m., at East Brunswick High School (EBHS), Cranbury Road. Admission is $5, at the door. Grand prize is a 27-inch television. Proceeds benefit Bowne-Munro School. (732) 251-2856.

• “Beyond Reality: An Evening of Mind-Bending Magic and Illusions” starring magicians Clive and Tracy Allen, sponsored by the East Brunswick High School Orchestra, 7:30 p.m., in the Joseph J. • Comedian Paul Venier in a comedy fund-raiser, sponsored by East Brunswick High School Project Graduation, 7 p.m., in the cafetorium at Churchill Junior High School, Norton Road. Atlantic City-style dealers and tables, poker, blackjack, craps, roulette. Participants play casino games and exchange chips for auction tickets to win prizes at a Chinese auction.
