State, local officials helped obtain grant for YMCA The Raritan Valley YMCA, East Brunswick, would like to thank our local and state officials for helping secure a $3.9-million Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA) grant to aid our renovation and expansion efforts. In particular, we would like to thank Sen. Barbara Buono (D-18th) for her interest in this project, which will have a positive impact on the many local communities that we serve. The relocation and expansion of our facility from Dunhams Corner Road to an existing building on Tices Lane will help us provide new and increased services to better serve more than 2,000 people across Central New Jersey. Among other things, the facility will feature cardiovascular, conditioning and weight-training areas, a six-lane pool, an aerobic/dance studio, a child care center, multipurpose rooms and a new gymnasium. This grant proves that once again, several entities, working together as one, can accomplish much for the common good. We look forward to an exciting 2005 with great anticipation as we watch the renovation and expansion of our family center. We appreciate everyone’s efforts in helping to make this project a success. Ron Fournier executive director Raritan Valley YMCA East Brunswick
