Fourth of July panel sets
‘Washless Car Wash’

Due to the drought situation, the Milltown Fourth of July Committee will hold a "Washless Car Wash" from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 11 in the Borough Hall parking lot, Washington Avenue.

Car owners will be given an air freshener and asked to make a donation for the borough’s upcoming holiday celebration.

Columbiettes schedule

‘Scramble’ for June 7

The Columbiettes of Immaculate Conception Knights of Columbus Council No. 4907 will sponsor a "Scramble" beginning at 8 p.m. on June 7 at the Knights hall, Crescent Avenue, Spotswood. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

The event will feature refreshments and door prizes. Cost is $5 per person. Adults only will be admitted.

Mother’s Day breakfast,

plant sale set at temple

The Golden Family Endowment, the Men’s Club and the Sisterhood of Congregation Anshe Emeth of South River, 88 Main St., will sponsor a Mother’s Day breakfast and plant sale beginning at 9:45 a.m. on May 12 as part of the temple’s Hebrew School open house.

Congregation members and nonmembers are invited to attend the events. Hebrew school registration forms will be available. Participants will have the opportunity to observe Sunday school classroom activities.

Mail carriers to pick up

food donations May 11

The National Association of Letter Carriers, in conjunction with the U.S. Postal Service, will collect nonperishable food items on May 11 for distribution to food banks in the community.

Residents are asked to place a nonperishable food donation next to their mailboxes. Letter carriers will pick up the contributions and deliver them to the local food bank.

Geranium sale set for

May 9 at Raritan Bay

The Raritan Bay Medical Center Old Bridge Auxiliary will sponsor a fund-raising geranium sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 9 outside the main entrance at the hospital’s Old Bridge division, off Ferry Road, between routes 9 and 18.

Pink, red, fuchsia and white flowers will be priced at $2.50 each or $26 per dozen. Advance orders are suggested.
